The truth is that it probably goes on a lot more than a sensible person thinks it does. I can recall one WG from a few years back that insisted on protected sex and stated no BB etc., because her concern was getting pregnant as she didn't have a "second line of defence".  Found out by accident that she was regularly BB'ing a guy that had had "the snip" so as far as she was concerned he was safe - she hadn't even considered the disease aspect or the fact that he probably used the same tactic with countless other girls.  Those that have a second line of defence - the pill, coil etc., are probably more susceptible to getting drawn in to BB as they have no fear of getting pregnant - maybe only with some regulars but it almost certainly goes on.

I've made my thoughts on bb pretty obvious in my posts. It's not something l would ever risk and l avoid prossies that openly offer/do it or that l suspect offer/doit.

Herpes is bad news and can be transmitted from cold sores. It's not actually an sti but it gets transmitted through sex.

Chlamidya affects women particularly hard in the sense that it can sterilise them if not caught quickly. It's one of those infections that show little or no symptoms in women until it's advanced, which is quite dangerous for them. It's easily treatable though, and something that I hear has become very common especially among the young. Hiv is actually quite hard to transmit, especially female to male, but a freshly infected person is the most infectious, so a nasty twist in the tail there.

Which would have been around 1981.  That reduced the incidence of all sti's substantially, but times are changing again and it's all on the increase.
