Well i'm pissed off. Booked a WG for 5pm - bombing down to see her and then me effin Alternator packs up.

RAC came and got me home - no jiggy for me tonight, it's gonna have to be good 'ol porn.

Sorry to hear this, what a bummer. I had similar happen to me once but i was within a couple of miles drive of the WGs so hitchhiked and gave a guy £20 to get me to the punt address which he did. Got a cab back and the car started first time, i had run the battery down but it had re-charged itself. The WG had wanted to cancel but i said i would make it on time and did and she became an excellent regular for a while.

Fuck it's normally the girls car that packs in. I'm amazed just how much bad luck working girls have - deaths, ill health, boiler problems, land lord calling round blah blah. Sounds like a nightmare and I bet the garage will screw you out of more cash than she would have

Happened to me 2 weeks back. Was a couple of hours from seeing WG, but battery flat. Luckliy Green Flag were not too long, and offered me a new battery for £140. I declined and told him to tow me a mile up the road to the local motor factors, where a battery was £40. Got to the WGs on time, but just.

Made me think time to look for a new car given all the other faults.

I get to find out how much I will be charged for the alt tomorrow. In the meantime Jack Daniels is my best friend!

New Battery or a Punt??

Or better still, haggle like mad on the Battery, but don't quible an extra £20 on the punt  :lol:
