Short trip to Kiev/Kyiv - some insight

I recently went to Kiev for a few days with the express purpose of (a) getting away from the wife and kids, and (b) shagging some local girls. I wasn't sure whether to tag this on the bottom of a recent thread or start a new one, but I figure that there hasn't been a new thread on Kiev for a while, and this way it might get read more and perhaps be of use to more people.

I have a slightly different angle to others who have written about Kiev. I studied Russian at uni and I'm a fairly fluent speaker (though it's getting a bit rusty these days). In other threads, people have said that anyone with knowledge of Russian could really have a great time in Kiev. While that's possibly true, I didn't actually find it to be particularly easy.

My specific focus was not on picking girls up at strip clubs or similar places, but finding them through the internet. That's the way I used to do it in Moscow when I lived there, as there were some great web sites. Sadly, the same can't be said about Kiev. I trawled through all the sites mentioned in other Kiev posts on here, consisting of:

I contacted several girls ahead of time via WhatsApp. Every single one that replied turned out to be an agency ("salon" in Russian). Some tried to string me along and continued to claim to be the girl in the photo, but most came clean pretty quickly and just sent me a load of photos, as many as 100 or so at a time. I even got the same batch of photos from three different numbers, so presumably there are different agencies peddling the same girls.

Basically, it seems to me that this is what happens for virtually all of the web sites I listed above. So if you choose this route to find girls in Kiev, don't bother wasting much time trawling through the profiles. Just contact a salon and cut to the chase. I'd say that 90%+ are fake and just designed to draw you in. It doesn't make any sense, but that's the way they do it. Happily, the photos that they subsequently send through via WhatsApp are fairly accurate, though in my experience the girls were much plainer in real life than in their photos. They don't like answering the phone either; I guess it's probably some sweaty fella pretending to be a female operator at most of these places.

If I was to do this again, there's only two websites I would place any faith in if I wanted to find a genuine profile:

External Link/Members Only. This is updated every day, and I get the impression that there are a higher proportion of genuine independent girls on here. Be suspicious of any profiles in which the girl is hot, cheaply priced, has professional photos and shows her face in all of them. It's probably a fake profile and you'll be calling a salon.

External Link/Members Only has a mix of salons and independents, but I would try to find girls with feedback at the bottom of their profiles. Google Translate would be ggod enough to give you the gist of what the comments are about. I only found one girl (out of five encounters) with a genuine profile on here, but I'm pretty sure there are quite a few more genuine ones. More so than the other web sites.

No worries. I can definitely recommend it. I paid only £35 for a return ticket from Stansted to Kiev Boryspil and no more than £45-55 for an hour for four different girls. So it's very good value.

I flew with Ryanair, which has just opened a route from Stansted to Kiev. And I found a centrally placed apartment for 60 quid a night via Expedia.  Airport transfers were $20 each way.

To answer the first question, I twice arranged an outcall to my apartment. I only gave them the building address, not the flat number, but both times the despatcher asked me to meet the girl outside on the street anyway and never asked for the flat number. I handed over the money after taking her back to the flat. I visited a duo who wouldn't do outcalls. I'd say about a third of the profiles say they're incall only.

As to the second question, quite a few girls say they speak English and probably know enough to be able to make arrangements with you. The agencies/salons are geared up for English speakers. If you manage to find an independent, I'd guess that maybe one in three speak a bit of English.

When I was out there last year, I mainly used Backpage to find cheap punts. I had a couple of dogs turn up but as long as you pay their taxi money, they can be sent away without too much fuss. This was through an agency so I doubt the girl will see even 50% of that. Still, I wouldn't have been able to get the equivalent of this girl from a nightclub here for that price.

Kiev is generally a cheap city to get around, with some great food, and it has enough to make me come back in order to build up a contact list.

And that would be a good salary in Ukraine. Average monthly salary for basic work that most of the people have, is around 200 USD these days in Ukraine (cities).

But as always, prices for prostitution are never much related to the countries overall economic situation. It can be actually just the opposite in many cases and you will probably find the cheapest prostitutes in rich countries. Like in Germany.

Sure you can find some rats in Africa for one dollar, but they will be the lowest of the lowest. Usually in so called poor countries (like Ukraine), all the good looking girls charge insane amounts for their services and you either accept that or skip it. I recommend always skipping, 'cos you will find these same girls coming to western Europe and charging just a fracture of what they would charge you in their native countries for their services.

I know this situation doesn't make any sense, but that's just the way it is. Maybe they've lost completely the sense of money altogether and then they will just drop some ridiculous amount of money request on the table, that's the best explanation I've figured out.

There's also always some businessmen in places like Kiev, who don't give a damn if a girl costs 500USD and they will pay that or whatever sum of money is asked from them and that twists the market badly as well.
