Well, I haven't priced Blackpool, but a bog standard hotel can't be that expensive in the off season, and you save yourself some money by just hitting the town in Blackpool and doing what you describe, and it wouldn't be the type of people you mentioned in the earlier post, who would probably frown upon you trying to chat them up.
