Author Topic: Calling in sick at work...  (Read 2656 times)

The way my schedule is going at the moment, the only way I can make a booking is by pulling a sickie, and I'm long overdue a punt. As I'm in a professional, responsible role, I feel like I need a bit of validation here! Have you ever? Would you? Do you?...

Offline Widescreen

Hell yes.....  I even did it when I had the Company vehicle, sod em....Then after one visit I got a shout asking why I had been in a particular area when I was supposed to be somewhere else, lucky for me they had not twigged I was off sick....lol

Turned out the vehicle had GPS Tracking and I never knew.

Not to be beaten I bought a gizmo to block the Sat Nav/GPS signals....

Start vehicle at home, use the blocker and then go where I want, all it showed them was my vehicle running, no idea that I had moved at all.

Used it for ages, even for shopping trips at weekends.....lol

Oh Joy...

Offline Mr Game and Watch

Thanks! I wouldn't have that particular predicament to contend with, but it's good to know that the thought has gone through someone else's mind!

Last time I was signed 2 weeks off work by my GP I felt good after a few days, so took the opportunity to have a punt. To avoid being seen in Reading I travelled to Maidenhead for an excellent run & tug session. Had me feeling much better than any medicine prescribed by the doctor. Before anybody asks I did review her here.

retired now,My job was excellent for 'punting' as it took me all over the UK and Europe visiting suppliers..I organised my work visit diary around 'meets'...the wife assumed I was at work, which I was, made sure my reports were done,When Mobile phones came along it made it even easier to pretend where I was...I even had a regular Tom answer my phone to say I was on the shop floor on one occasion.....but alas those were the days funded by my petrol expenses (my wife thought that the company was mean by not paying for petrol ha ha),now it's finding reasons to get out of the house/garden.....fishing is a good one,but needs prep.So yep those were the days!

If you get caught using one of those you'll get a bloody big fine

Not thrown a sickie before, but have used 'medical' appointments to get out for a few hours. Physio, diabetic check-up's, Eye tests, etc.
Can be a hell of a wait in the hospitals  ;)

Offline woulddoanything

Did this for my first ever punt and have done a few more times since. My attendance was always exceptional so nobody ever queried it. Never had a guilty conscience either as there's always someone that you work with who you know takes the piss with "illness".

I occasionally 'work from home'........

If you have a ‘professional responsible role’ then this is the last thing you should do. It’s neither professional nor responsible. Take a days leave and don’t be a sneaky cunt  :hi:

Not called in a sicky, but don't need to as own company. Main issue is turning phone off when in a punt as its rather annoying going off all the time. One time left it on, phone went, tis was just at beginning of punt, WG said to take it and she would give me BJ as I was on phone, turned out to be GF on the other end. Very interesting experience to say the least

… and they never thought to ask you why you left the engine running on the vehicle while it was parked outside your house ? … particularly stupid employers I would have thought … if I believed it.

As I work 5/7 on a 9 week rota I never work Mon-Fri always having a day off midweek so no need to chuck a sickie. The only time I planned some filthy fun on a day I had a dentist first thing didn't go to plan as I came off my bike the day before.

I had no idea they were no longer sold.

Think I still have 2 of them.

Whats the issue?

I once deliberately answered the OH call and had a lengthy chat with her, while receiving a really sloppy BJ. It was quite thrilling but not an experience I would repeat especially as Mrs D was quite inconsiderate and kept talking while I CIM....bloody difficult to maintain a normal conv simultaneously. :D

Not quite a 'responsible role' - but In the early 90s I was doing evening classes at the local Tec.
Tues & Thurs 8-11pm I think.
Many an evening I'd get the urge at 8, fight it until 9 then fuck off before 9.30..
Zoom down from Havering all the way to Stratford Sauna.

Back at my GFs house by 11 and she was none the wiser

Offline RedKettle

No longer an issue for me as I can now quite easily fit punting into my work life. However when it was more difficult I never used the sickie route. Not for any moral reason but I always try to follow a general rule of having a reason to be in the general area of the punt. Tricky if I was supposed to be wrapped up at home sick rather than wrapped in the sweaty embrace of a WG.

Offline freeze44

Not done a sick day but have put in a 'meeting' at a suitable time to get out of work for a bit, did the punt then went back to work...all seemed fine although kinda felt like a naughty kid as had just shagged a fit 25 yr old and really had to work to keep a stupid grin off my face!

Offline Jamez17

Not a sickie but Ive taken time owing for a PM punt 2pm or something. ... 90 mins round trip  :yahoo:

Offline Juankerr

Pulled a sickie for punts a few times, mainly when touring WG's have been in town at short notice.

Offline misterali

You’ll be surprised how terrible most companies are at looking into these things. Most times you would have to be caught in the act.

Offline hungrypunt

Nope Id book a day or half a day off.
I cant stand lying sickies.

Offline Grumpy Pumpy

I've never taken a sickie for any reason. I certainly wouldn't for a punt.

I'd be racked with guilt (not at the punting but the sickie) and wouldn't enjoy it all

Offline Gordon Bennett

Pretending you're Ill is unmanly.

Online LLPunting

I always had TOIL and flexi-time so no worries if I really had to.
Never used it for escorts though.

Offline Mr Game and Watch

I guess the answer is, it all comes down to my own moral conscience. I am definitely feeling the urge, but I'd hate it if the guilt set in as soon as I came!

Offline bigboy

Not pulled a sickie but waited for my lunch break to go for a punt and came back to work with the thought in my head of what just happened in the punt made the day go by faster  :yahoo:

Offline thor555

Took a day off to go for a punt...
Was super hung over once at work which turn into a stomach bug at work....
Left work and went for a 1 hr massage. Was great after a solid night out  :D

Offline SwenyTodd

Often have to have random "medical appointments" for me to fit in a punt.  Sometimes I'll tell my boss I have to leave early so I fit in a quick session whilst also ensuring I get home without the mrs being suspicious.

Offline Mr Sinister

Never a sickie as those are reserved for usually doing FA at home. But I try to squeeze one in between meetings out the office as I can always blame traffic/tube for being late back.

Offline mark210992

Flexible working hours can be great, especially when working on a project away from home :-)  No need for sickies.

Offline fallentrees1321

I wouldn't feel guilty pulling a sickie , plenty of other people at work play the system and have as many "sick" days as they can get away with whilst staying under the radar .

Personally I dont do it because I always fear that if I pull a sickie today , then in a few weeks time I might genuinely be ill . Plus I get enough time around work to punt as I wish .

The only other consideration might be if someone sees you out and about whilst you are off "sick" .

Offline pythondan

I can work from home a couple of days a week so I used to just punt in the mornings and catch up with work in the evening.

We have recently got this new fangled Skype for Business software where people can see if you are active on your computer. Being away from it for a couple of hours might be questioned  :(

Done a few local punts during my 1hr break. 😍
