I have clients who only want a morning booking, won't accept one afternoon or evening because they don't want to see me after anyone else. That's fair enough, but sometimes I take mornings off to fit in personal things. In those cases an afternoon appointment (and sometimes even evenings) will be first one I've taken that day. It's interesting the assumptions that can be made. I remember a day last year when a guy assumed I must have just seen a client because I told him I was out driving when he rang. He was very reticent to book since he didn't want to see me if there was a chance I'd had another client that day. Incalls are several times more popular than outcall bookings in my experience, so I thought this was a a bit of an odd assumption. Then again his experience may lie with agencies, where the balance can lie in the other direction if they don't have/offer incall premises.
