....an extra wash load ....
I wouldn't punt with you if you were a working girl.  Even if you only have 5 punters a week, that's 5 extra wash loads.

Who gives a toss about heating bills? Lots of people, and it will increase. I am (a little resentfully) paying more than Jimmy and for a smaller house.

Back on topic, would it really be a compliment if a girl really earnt 'the most'?  Look at Xaviera Hollander, earnt a fortune, and what an empty-headed waste of a woman. I have greater admiration for women who either make a decent living through a professional approach, leaving time to expand their minds and life with the disposable time and income or, as some students do, cash in for a short period while young and attractive enough to make enough cash to set them up for their future career and pay off their English student fees.

Perhaps a seperate section where people can debate heating bills is in order, since it seems to generate so much interest  :sarcastic:

her expenses are zero apart from the normal living expenses that everyone has.

Not sure if the expenses come into the equation, girls generally charge what they feel they can get away with and what the punter will pay, which is probably the same thing. It will also depend on what the girl needs to earn. If you are in a flat, paying a daiy rate for it, have other expenses, you still might be tempted to drop your prices if you are having a bad day. I do not think there is a logical calculation that is done, after all, we have already established we are vastly over paid.

Ah but I thought we didn't have any expenses, or at least very minimal ones. Your argument does ring true though in that a girl with daily expenses, and possibly only in this for the short term then it might make sense to drop your rates and up the footfall to your door.

Someone who doesn't have expenses maybe isn't earning enough

Find a check out girl who has 'expenses'  :dash:  :)

Find any successful business person who doesn't.  ;)   ;)

Years ago i asked a mate in retail what his mark up was ..
he replied we take the cost price add the vat add 30% then if it looks too cheap ramp it up some more ...
As you rightly say supply and demand controls price ... quality of service and customer satisfaction controls repeat custom .

thats hy my regular has taken loads off me since Christmas and then retired again ......

In advertising, the test is, 'what the market can stand' (which is a bit more refined than old-fashioned supply and demand, although other factors come into play with goods as opposed to services).

In the UK, when times get hard, prossies lower their prices.

In Brasil, when times get hard, prossies raise their prices.

No, the latter don't get 'dusty phones' - they know what they're doing even if it wouldn't work here.

You have lost me there, who does not have expenses? I have certainly never claimed that WG's do not have expenses as I have always had expenses due to not working from home

Your argument does ring true though in that a girl with daily expenses, and possibly only in this for the short term then it might make sense to drop your rates and up the footfall to your door.

Did not realise there was an argument or issue with what I was saying, or at least I fail to see it. All WG's work on their own price structure if they are independent. They choose what they wish too as to what they feel they can earn, I do not believe that girls that work from home actually charge less than a WG with expenses, why should / would she?

Your selling something that you feel has a value, you will only drop your prices due to a need or lack of demand, not according to expenses. There are girls that work from home and still charge £150+ an hour.

You may drop your prices to increase footfall, after all if you are in a place you have paid for and are working in it for 8 hours you want to maximise your profit. It is what you make not what  you take

Sorry 'reasoning' would have been a better word to have used than 'argument'. Although to me an argument can simply be a form of reasoning - it just doesn't necessarily mean you are battling against another point of view.
