What fun! But we did get something from it: the definition of 'troll' that was given earlier is inaccurate and too broad.
The crucial feature of trolling is that the poster doesn't believe what he/she says. If this were not the case, you would end up with a situation (e.g. Mumsnet) where anyone who speaks 'against the grain' on a controversial topic gets labelled a troll and hey presto, the majority 'thinks' it has 'won'. In order to find that someone is trolling, they must either out themselves (as Londondave did when saying 'might try this again') or when questioned about their views they must be unable to explain them reasonably.
