Daviemac would be better placed to help you with that. I know that there are Admin 'helpers' that can freeze accounts of those that they think are leeches/pisstakers then Admin will make a final decision on it.

As soon as they're noticed they get frozen. Once frozen they get a message on every page they try to access telling them it's frozen until Admin investigates, a thing he's in no hurry to do.

I may have misunderstood your question when I answered before, just in case, if you don't post for 30 days your access is restricted and you can't view links or images, then if you post some crap just to keep your access and it's spotted your account gets frozen.

It's all to try and get rid of the lurkers and encourage useful contributions.

If anyone wants to continue lurking then that's fair enough but they'll have to accept that what they can see will be limited, a bit like non members I suppose.

I have a feeling this review is another example of posting to maintain access, he hasn't bothered for the past 3 years. Giving him the benefit of the doubt just now.

I don't doubt that it's just it's his first review which happens to coincide with Admin restricting access to non contributors. He joined in July 2015 and first post straight after this restriction came in.

Isn't this the point of the new restriction though - making folks join in? Assuming it's genuine - as it seems to be - we now have a new review we wouldn't have had otherwise.  Maybe now he's broken the ice, we'll have a greater contribution from Caradoc.  I agree that the single line posts we've seen to try and get around the "freeze" are annoying; this is a useful contribution though.

No it doesn't have to be a review, just a general genuine useful post, things like "I agree" and "yes" just to get a post count after yeas of lurking are the ones Admin wants rid of. I don't think you've got anything to worry about.
