So i find myself with 3-4 hours free and fancy a bit. my problem is im 25 miles from nearest town and its the so called rush hours traffic wise. So how do you guys go about a last min punt, for me its near-on impossible

Answer? I don't and avoid rush-hour even when planned in advance.

Luckily I'm close to Heathrow and other decent enough punting places so it's not a prob for me.

I just recognise and accept my situation does not lend itself to last minute impromptu punting, it is what it is and there's no magic solution. I just plan ahead, create opportunities and try to grasp them as best I can.

I tend to have to punt at least 20 miles from home, so also find it difficult to have a last minute punt. Its why I tend to book well in advance now.

Last minute punts, have always turned out disappointing for me, I prefer organized advance meets, minimum one hour. After all with the type of money we are paying, it has to be an occasion.
