Unit 8 and going off punting

Thought very briefly about a punt today.
Had some work in Tinsley and on the way back it briefly occured to me to call at Unit 8, as I have never been and I have totally lost touch with Sheffield parlours, and don't fancy the overrated GFE which has dominated the scene for years now.
I usually head straight up the Prince of Wales Road on my way back to Chesterfield. However instead I turned up to Handsworth, but in the couple of minutes it took me to reach the road where Unit 8 is located, I had totally gone off the idea and I headed straight past.
Years ago I would drive all over Sheffield punting like fuck - on the way back I thought of some of the places I have punted. Apart from the usual suspects, such as Attercliffe and City Road, I've punted in:  Sharrow, Norfok Park, Gleadless, Jordanthorpe, Woodhouse, Hillsborough, Stannington, Tinsley, Darnall, Heely, Burngreave, Broomhall, Rivelin Valley, Middlewood, amongst numerous others, including some places I have even forgotten where the punt took place. 

I haven't had a local punt since August 2013, some minger in Rotherham (see review), and haven't had a punt anywhere since the crap Chinese duo in London last year (see review).
I really don't miss it. If anyone had told me 20 years ago I would feel like this I wouldn't have believed them.

Apart from the complete lack of libido the other thing that puts me off these days is that I get paid cash in hand, which really focuses the mind. I don't want to spend a couple of hours earning fifty quid and then crash double that in less than half the time, arriving home with less than I started with, for what will probably be a forgettable experience. When I was paid monthy by bank transfer I didn't get that feeling.

I'm not sure whether I will ever punt at all again, but it's extremely unlikely I ever will again locally.

What are the girls like at Unit 8 anyway as they all have obscured faces.  I note there was a 'party' on this evening.  Not for me thanks!

When I started punting, heading down the M1 to Sheffield or crawling over the pennines on the M62 to punt in Mancs and Lancanshire was literally a moment's decision! I was like a dog on heat! Even the sometimes long drive didn't put me off - thrill of the hunt and all that. As time has gone, I've become somewhat "picky" (and this is with girls I know I wouldn't have wasted a second deciding whether to meet in the past) to the point I can't be arsed at times.

Add that my priorities with money have changed, so much like yourself, I question more the value of what I'm getting (honestly I've looked at some girls' profiles and decided a wank would be better value for money!).

Not been to Unit 8 and never been into the party scene either. It's a funny game this - guess the moral of it all is that we do change in time, and perhaps it's punting which changes us.

You are not alone with this feeling and I agree with everything you have said. As I've got older I just don't have the sudden rush of blood to the nether regions like I used to and the little blue pills won't help if you don't have that inclination. I think its because as we get older testosterone levels decline and it causes a loss of sex drive, it sometimes feels as if there's become a disconnection between my head and dick, the minds willing but I don't seem to get that feeling anymore, you know the one, where you see a fit woman and you just have to have a shag. Yes, I used to drive to Bury - a couple of hours mimimum return journey, and not an easy drive easy drive, just for less than an hour in a a bloody parlour.

Im sure everyone gets this feeling at some time or other. Fair enough really. I would say that once the red mist of horniness has been dealt with and spent (along wih your hard earned cash) there is always a sense of waste and a but of disgust in yourself.

As to the question if Unit 8 - I thought it was a shithole of a place the first time I went but i would probably pick it over GFE now even if it is slightly pricier.

In a similar boat, I haven't had a decent punt in over 18 months (hence no reviews) a couple of 15min punts is all. Primarily due to the lack of opportunity. Today I have the opportunity and I don't think I'll be taking it. No lack of libido - maybe it's an age thing.

I too have lost the urge for FS punts at the moment & just mainly do the Thai rub & tugs now. I was like you NIK, in the main I felt let deflated after punts, mainly because of the cash. The massage scene is in the main far cheaper & I get a full hour of relaxation & attention, plus there's less chance of catching anything!! I used to feel guilty about spending £60+ on a punt until I discovered the 15 minute quickie for £30 at Unit 8 (£25 at some places). This is now my preferred choice as it means even if it is a crap punt then I haven't lost out much and if it's a great one then I can add them to the hotlist for a future longer session but to be honest I still keep going back for quickies as it does the job nicely.

Unit 8 are great for this and the girls seem quite happy with it and still have a good attitude despite not earning much out of it. Most of the girls I've seen there I would see again. In particular: Tanya, Eva, Caitlyn and Elise are all pretty and with a good attitude. Still yet to see all of the other girls.

I suppose I went off parlours before I went off punting generally.
Although I visited dozens and dozens and have had several hundred parlour punts once you have met some decent indies it is seldom the same. Mainly used parlours in the first half of my punting career for Cody and convenience - although some parlour punts can be almost as expensive as an indie or agency escort.
The only parlour still around I am familiar with is GFE which I’ve always thought overrated, and it appears to have got worse.
Is Diplomat still going? Went there a few times, good facilities, less good girls. Last time I went I walked. Only been to Kittens once since they have been located where they are now (used to go a lot to the old place). The girl was so bad (English too) an older woman had to come in to show her what to do!

I can totally relate to what you have described so well. I have experienced a similar decline in punting activity over the years as I got older. As for you , no single but multiple factors account for an incremental change in my punting patterns over the years.
Age and concomitant decrease in libido are as much to ‘blame ‘ as increased awareness of the financial impact of punting. As you say, a large amount of money for what in most instances is a forgettable and often regrettable experience.
When I was younger I sometimes drove happily 100+ miles for what looked like a decent punting opportunity. The number of decent punts can be couted on two hands. Over the years quality of a punt became increasingly more important than frequency but is much harder to predict and get. I have stopped visiting parlours a few years back now. But even escorts from more expensive agencies can be a hit and miss. Rarely did a true gfe materialise. More often than not I drove home frustrated.
The current fashion appears to be SA  but my gut feeling tells me that the only difference to using high class escorts is an even higher charge and potentially emotional dependency and manipulation.

I agree with so much of what's been said here, and admire all the honesty. Though I'm not particularly old I've been punting for a long time, but other than a totally forgettable waste of money down South a few weeks ago (spur of the moment, E European, utterly without soul or pleasure), I've not dabbled for around a year. Last time was summer 2017 at Diplomat in Sheffield with an Eastern European duo, which was great (and cheap as chips), but I forget their names.

Hence no reviews **yet** since I joined UKP. Will oblige as soon as I have someone to review.

To be honest I am looking for one or two regulars up here in the north, and haven't found them yet. Like many in this thread, I'm after total quality, and not quantity.
