A perfectly valid stance, just as long as you remember that on this basis everyone who appears in a BBC programme with any point of view is "working for the BBC".  :hi:

I don't often watch the BBC, too much left wing bias in their news coverage, they don't even like using the word terrorist.

With all due respect the BBC chooses the type of shows that they air and that's why we end up with politically correct unfunny comedians like Russell Howard with their own shows because that's what the BBC want.

I.e. Would Frankie Boyle get his own show on the BBC... No fucking chance :)

This thread hit a nerve for me because "Stacey Dooley Investigates" sums up everything wrong with the BBC, £12+ per month and views get shite like this, it's ridiculous!

More chance of me being editor of The Guardian.     :D

Well I only watch it on iPlayer, no TV or licence, and there's still fuck all worth watching, about 3 progs a week across all 4 channels, if that!

I'm shocked that the old blonde minger street walker who said she'd robbed €1200 from one bloke, fook me he must of had a few pivo's!

Simon who she met In prison, who said "pickpocketing is simply part of us" "my grandmother used to do it" talk about keeping it in the family, proud to be Roma no doubt, no wonder the Czech's hate them.

People will rip of stag goers because they are easy meat with cash to burn.

If the Mayor wants to crack down In Prague he should enforce the Taxis who use dodgy meters and take tourists to clip joints, andmove the gypsy pick pocketers away.

These days the UK can be cheaper to shag Czech girls than Prague.

OK, so you don't find any programme on the BBC worth watching and think the license fee is bad value and an affront that you have to pay it. That's bad luck given it's breadth of output. Or maybe it's you... I happen to think that having a broadcaster that is not funded by advertising raises the quality of all TV output in the UK.

As it happens I find Russell Howard unfunny too, but my kids find him hilarious. My dad didn't like Monty Python or Spike Milligan or Not The Nine O'Clock News but I loved those shows. I am mature enough to realise that shows (and these days entire channels) are targeted at different groups and there's plenty on the BBC (1,2,4) worth watching. As much as on any commercial channel, whether free-to-air or subscription based.

And unlike you I find Frankie Boyle to be a pain in the arse. I understand his "edgy" humour - I'm not outraged at his style of comedy - as apparently you are meant to be if you don't find him funny - I just find his stuff repetitive and boring. Louis CK does it so much better than him.

So do I, the BBC is a gravy train for the fat cats who work there, millions wasted year after year because no one cares ----- not too different from the European Union really.

She has a Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacey_Dooley. Seems to be a "journo" chosen to appeal to the yoof. Given that she was 21 when making her first documentary I don't think she was chosen for her experience.

Yeah, I feared that. Most folk are not keen on the idea of watching foreign TV, especially if having to read subtitles. Taxes their brains too much.

Would anyone have even heard of Frankie Boyle were it not for the BBC? And who can forget Emily Maitland re-telling *that* pussy joke on Newsnight?

Sids Cassette Nutsem has also been brightening my weekends of late.

Oh Jimmy, you are a very, very funny man. Take that in whatever way you wish...

I'll leave you to talk to yourself for a bit. Don't argue now.

I've been to Prague a few times now on Stag Dos and this program was exactly what I expected; one sided bollocks. It made Prague look like some seedy run down shit hole where you'd be scared of catching an STD from going to the bog. I did go to one of the big nightclubs/brothels each time I went and I never felt unsafe and you think they were just normal nightclubs. I didn't partake in any punting while other there (I was on the lash all the time and I'm useless when pissed) but had heard anyway that while the girls were stunning (which they were) they were all a bit too mechanical..which I hate. One lad did take the plunge and came out disappointed and was told us she wouldn't let him touch her anywhere. He basically had to keep his hands to himself while she just rode him. Not good.

Still, love Prague, and if I had seen that documentary before I had ever been I probably would have big reservations about going in the first place.

Prague is excellent, love the place.  Agree with what you say above, I've been thrice and never had any bother, maybe I'm just lucky?  Apart from the first time when I was there when the Asian street girls were amore prominent and one nicked my wallet but I caught her, made a scene and the pimp appeared from a side street, back handed her across the chops and handed me back my wallet.

When I was last there about a year ago, we were in one of the strip clubs (Darlings I think) and were told by one of the girls that if you wanted any extras over just a dance that you should go for, and this is a direct quote "blacks and fats".  We also went to Hot Peppers, which was featured heavily in Dooley Investigates and it was shit, same as Goldfingers, apart from the obvious opportunity to sing "Gowldfinger" in my best Shirley Bassey impersonation.

Dropped some subtle hints to the chaps I was with that we should nip out to showpark, but they didn't seem to keen, until I told them it wasn't just a Gentlemans Club... Never did get out there though.

We went to Darlings as well. The women in there were incredible like. Although the two midgets shagging on stage..not so good.

Like I said though, that documentary was shit and meant to put people off going..or at least put the paranoia into women watching about what their other halfs were up to in Prague. Total feminist bollocks as usual when it comes to documenting this topic.

The street girls aren't Asian they're gypsies. The edisode was pointless, to scare the masses, now blokes planning to go there will have no chance if their Mrs has watched this.

I didn't say that but I do feel there is very little worth watching

and think the license fee is bad value and an affront that you have to pay it.

Yep people are forced to pay it by law if they watch ANY live TV even though the license fee ONLY applies for the BBC channels. So even if I never ever watched the BBC I'm still forced to pay the license fee by law.

THAT'S what I object to

That's bad luck given it's breadth of output. Or maybe it's you... I happen to think that having a broadcaster that is not funded by advertising raises the quality of all TV output in the UK.

The BBC is the governments mouthpiece and everyone is forced to pay to watch their BS one sided propaganda, that's wrong IMO. The only good thing is the lack of adverts.

Think you're wasting your time here mh.
Obviously the majority of posters would be happy with the high standards demonstrated by Channel 5
