Am Thai Therapy
Both Forthports and Tiny recently mentioned Am Thai. I thought that I would give some comments as, to quote Forthports, mileage may vary.
The studio is new, towards the east side of the Meadows. It has three rooms, all small, but with proper massage tables with a head hole. There is a shower, but I was told that it only gives around 3 minutes of water,
There are three staff. Lily, accurately described by Forthports as middle aged and pretty dowdy, who is Thai. Ampa (or something similar) the one he said was young and moody. She is a Londoner, and ethnically Chinese. And Rosie who I have not seen but who I expect is also Thai.
I was passing about ten days ago, looked in to enquire as I have had a few legit Thai massages in the past and enjoyed them. Lily was free and I booked for 90 mins for £85.
The Thai style massage was excellent. I was asked whether I wanted soft or hard but said somewhere inbetween. It was firm enough for my tastes.
There was no discussion of extras (or extra payment). But Lily made encouraging sounds when she touched near my groin, then started reaches through my legs. After turning over and more legit massage, she started oiling round the wee man and encouraged me to touch her bum (but nothing else).
At this point, I should explain that I have had a bus pass for over a decade and recently been unwell. Although the oily strokes were pleasant, I did not rise to the occasion. I do not think that I would have managed anything even with a young super-hot masseuse.
As mentioned above, I was not asked for any extra payment, but I gave Lily an extra £20 and pleasantly departed.
I returned about a week later. This time my massage was from Ampa. She was skilled especially with the hot stones. Some routine chat. After about an hour, Lily looked in, told Ampa that she had been booked by another customer, and took over. I was not asked to agree to this. Maybe Ampa does not provide extras. Sadly, for me, I again failed to perform. I left a tip for both, again unasked.
Overall, I would assess the Thai massage as excellent. A HJ was offered, maybe only for longer sessions. With no clear price set for this. As Forthports mentioned, the masseuse is not great looking. Perhaps it would be best viewed as a bonus on top of a good massage.
Maybe the service will become more organised in due course. Finally, if you are younger and better looking than me, perhaps you could get some action from the young Chinese girl. Good luck.
