OK, my last comment on this in reply to RL.
As a professional pilot I had to modify my Northern English regional accent to allow Air Traffic Controllers to understand me from Beijing to Brazil and other non English speaking countries.
So I ended up with what I can only describe as a middle English voice, a bit like Clarkson I guess, but it appears to appeal to American ladies. Perhaps they all watch Top Gear!
Anyway, the line I used "would you like to hear more, perhaps over a coffee" has worked for me a number of times, once in El Paso, twice in Los Angeles, in San Diego, Las Vegas and Scottsdale in Phoenix, always as a reply to a comment along the lines of "Ah lurve youah accent" from a lady in a supermarket checkout line. Always the more mature gals, 30 upwards.
One memorable occasion was with a chubby 40ish 'Mom next door' type who turned out to be a totally off the wall raving nymphomaniac once her front door was closed! I could nearly write a short novel about that encounter.
Never actually had to pay for the resulting punts, but found that some of the ladies had been involved in the 'adult' business, table dancing, budding porno actresses etc so I always wined and dined them at up market restaurants and helped out financially a couple of times.
