Many WGs do ask punters to confirm before that's to avoid timewasters and there is a fair assumption on the punters' part that the booking is going ahead if we confirm and is not an opportunity for her to back out.

Some folk would have not gone ahead with the booking if she hadn't confirmed but the reality is many of us still sometimes press on and hope for the best - particularly if you are already well on your way to the destination.

1) As has been said, most punters rightly assume the booking is going ahead if they confirm and unless you live very near, you are well on the way to the destination 30mins before anyway, to allow for getting there and finding somewhere to park in Heathrow, which isn't easy.

2) If it was a genuine emergency (doubtful) then it doesn't take 10 seconds to send a quick text to cancel and apologise, then subsequently offer a reduced rate on a future booking. Nor did you respond to him afterwards, even when he contacted you again. You are sorry you've been caught out, not that you wasted 2hrs of this chap's life.

3) Suggesting you would have offered a discount is bollocks - if that was genuine, you had plenty of opportunity to do that before but you didn't. Complaining about him making one reference to you as a 'whore' and using it as an excuse for not offering the discount that you were never going to offer him anyway is rather silly.

From my experience, if youve booked and she asks you to confirm so and so time before the booking time, then you get no reply whatsoever after countless calls and texts, it usually represents the prioritization of a different booking. Longer booking length, quite possibly an overnight, she registered in the morning SMH.

Im disappointed with your experience OP quite rightly a negative...the trouble with the SP's response is that too many of us have been stood up by SPs not confirming in a timely manner once the OK I can see you then bby txt is received.
