Author Topic: Police raid on Shoebox Glasgow  (Read 5896 times)

I have a mate who is a glasgow polis.

Told me it's the talk of his station that ten officers went mob handed to the shoebox swingers club in the West end and burst into the shoebox mid way through a party on Wednesday and caught a number of guys doing what happens at these parties.

My worst nightmare!

Offline muffherwell91

Swinging is not illegal so unless there was something else going on I don’t see why they would be raided?

Offline Harrymetsally

Money changed hands somewhere at the Shoebox I'm sure.

Offline Steveni86

Entry cost was the issue I believe.

And the fact that at shoebox sex is guaranteed.

Fucking backwards attitudes, they shut down all the saunas years ago and now they're after the swingers clubs. I've never been to a swingers club but give it time and I won't have that option either. Paying for sex should be legal if both parties are doing it of their own free will but the feminazi's, poofters and religious nuts in the polis and council are fucking up other peoples fun. Unless of course it gay saunas, they're fine, fucking hypocrites. Absolute shite.

Seems a similar place in Salisbury  that has hosted regular sex parties for decades amid concerns of prostitution was closed down after a number of complaints

So jusr wonder if the same is happening with the shoe box, has there been complaints to the council, and action has been taken

Pretty sure, I've read on here before that it's full of munters up there..  :unknown:

It depends on how they decide they are going to break it up. as I understand it they advertise the nominal entry fee as a cost covering for refreshments and cleanup etc. and anything else is simply consenting adults. How they would extend this to brothel keeping would be a bit of a stretch. I get how they can do it for gangbangs etc where the girls are earning full escort rates but not swinging.

Offline auldie63

A police spokeswoman said: “Acting on information received regarding activity at a flat in Thornwood, police attended at an address around 2pm on Wednesday.
However, no evidence was found of any criminality taking place and advice was given to the householder.”
 :dash: :unknown:

So how much money, from the already overstretched polis budget, was wasted on this latest farce.
When you phone the polis noo it's no a watch you need to time how long it takes them to get to you it's a fucking calendar, but they can spare the time and resource of 10 plain clothes officers, for probably several hours, for pish like this!
If you ask me it's more than the top of the greasy pole in the plod that needs looking at.

According to the 'Daily Retard' report, the Police found 'no evidence of criminality, but gave advice to the householder' so, yes, no charges are being brought for brothelkeeping.
I know one girl, a swinger, who turned up for a gangbang (she received no payment) but left in disgust on learning that guys were being charged at he door.
I guess it was inevitable that neighbours would complain, given the high level of activity; chances are that the landlords might evict the tenant for anti social behaviour, if the lease provides for this.

You guys do realise the police often have no say in who or what is targeted because if the councillors or MSPs shout loud enough or utter enough threats they get what they want.

I have known police that have said if the girls are selling then why bother especially if they are not bothering anyone else.

Always interesting how they are happy to expose people, yet use pseudonyms for their 'journalistic' endeavours.

I hate the Daily Retard to the core.  The bastards have published a photo of the guy that runs Shoebox, and have revealed the area that he stays in. Of course, as usual, we cant see a photo of the fuckwit that wrote the 'article.'   They do like their anonymity, but are very quick to expose others. I bury the Retard and Mirror under a handful of its rivals when I see them for sale.

I read a comment yesterday, ''The Retard has the same effect on the mind as sugar for one's teeth.''

Reserved for those that were standing in the shit line when the brains were being passed out.

Quite correct; if the cops didn't act on a complaint from neighbours or their cooncillor, they would get negative press.
Auldie's point, that there were ten plainclothes officers, is relevant. Why turn up mob handed, when normally only a couple of plods would respond to a complaint of, say, a rowdy party? I'm guessing that group sex is considered much more heinous in the West of Scotland, than group drunkenness. Me, I enjoy both...

Aye quite pathetic. On another note, I grew up around Govanhill and still have links there, even though I have heard the same rumours we all have about child prostitution in flats and on street corners I have not actually seen any save a couple of girls every now and again who advertised as escorts for a short she that I knew were borderline. Now that Nicola has decided there is an entire task force of plain clothes and uniform chasing these rumours.

I am curious how attitudes and the politics around all this will change over the next 10 years as my generation start entering the corridors of power. We are supposedly more progressive yet people will still turn thier noses up at things such as prostitution and swinging. Whatever keeps the votes ticking over I guess.

Auldie hit it on the head about the number of officers. Firstly the fact that they were plain clothes bothers me, feels underhanded. Secondly the number of them. It suggests to me that they expected trouble...it's swingers not a fucking drug gang.

Offline Dundee Ghost

I've been once. It was exactly as described (female host/workers) but there were at least three "normal" women attended too. Never went back. And TBH, I wouldn't like it if this was in my close.

Offline Clattypats

The police were heavy handed ...I don't expect any less of Police Scotland..The same rules apply at the Footy these days,to a certain degree..

I know nothing about these shoebox parties :unknown: ..All I know is,it wouldn't interest me..Being in a room with Fuck knows who..I'm sure the majority are brand new, decent, couples etc..But how is a thing like this vetted?..

Offline mr small

Sounds like typical police screw up......10 undercover cops to deal with a similar number of sober middle aged citizens .......but will send 2 cops to deal with a 30-40 underage drunk teenagers.

It's a fear from women.  Women are hugely threatened by other women who give away sex for free or charge for sex.  Women lose their power if sex is freely available, immediately they worry that their man or prospective man would see a swinger or prostitute and it represents 'competition' for them.  When you mention hookers to a woman or swingers, they immediately use the word 'smelly' and follow it up by 'you'll catch something'.  Well, you don't know the hooker/swinger is smelly or has an STD.  You just made that shit up to protect your own precious ego.

This is a bit worrying reading about raids and other Daily Record related stuff on here.  These bastards would ruin you if it got some hits for their site.  Feel sorry for those that had to put up with that completely OTT police reaction and outing this guy despite the actual article stating nothing criminal took place.  Don't really get the whole 'business is booming' shite either since they always limit the amount of guys at any one party so I doubt they are making more than they have.  I remember meeting the guy and he seemed like a decent bloke to me as most of them did.

There's a big thread on Fab Swingers about this and the Shoebox is not universally liked in that community.  Wouldn't surprise me if it was other swingers who are a part of this too.  Apparently the bigger more well known clubs are licensed businesses who pay tax and see this place at the very least as a borderline brothel designed to line the pockets of one guy.  Personally couldnt comment on that but there's plenty of swingers on that site sticking the boot in and welcoming this.  For us punters though, even the ones not interested in swinging at all, this is certainly a worrying development and a pattern is emerging

I would advise anyone to exercise caution visiting this place.  It's not worth the risk.
