Interesting.  What strikes me is that councillors are treating this like a particular (Romanian) problem in the Ilford area but that Ilford doesn’t particularly register as a focus of activity on here.

It's not surprising really that the lion's share of punters are local i.e. men who will spot the women on a regular basis and think 'Sod it' one night.

As the report says, it's all ethnicities but Ilford/East Ham have plenty of mosques and the Muslim blokes I know have no qualms about getting their end away when no one's looking.

A thread was posted up on the UKE main board on Tuesday about the local councils intention to issue fines of £100 for residents caught punting with street WGs. No idea exactly how they would do this in practice.

I grew up and lived in one of the streets off Ilford Lane for twenty years... Went to school there etc etc and never knew anything about this !! Mind you, but had lots of fun in Barking Park in my teens !!

Unfortunately most of the WGs in this area are Romanian,seems like all the Hungarians are in North London.Most punters aren't aware of UKP or even AW when I discuss it with them at parties.

If they are on AW they will be as individuals so you may not be aware it is a brothel until you arrive.The council closed down the parties I went to last September in Dagenham now I have to travel elsewhere.

Many of the punters in this area will be Muslim,they were at the Dagenham party, so this will open up a can of worms once they start issuing fines,they will probably claim some sort of discrimination.

No, but there have been a number of terrorist related arrests in this area,so they don't want to upset people with fines if they are relying on intel from the community.

I can see that a on spot fine maybe issued rather than arresting the punters (considering street prostitution is meant to be illegal) so this saves court appearances and raises some useful cash.Brothels,I don't know what they can do about,very few of the AW girls in this area operate in a premises on their own,so in effect they are all brothels.
