I think I used something like that when I went. But I also found lesser known RLDs — for instance Lausanne has a sort of prossie market area in an industrial car park to the NW of the centre and perfectly safe as far as I could tell. Yes, it was more the price I was prepared to pay (prossies would come back to my rented apartment and stay longer than say, the quickie service in Geneva. As with most countries, best to check UKP and ISG. If you can be bothered for first visits.

ps Switzerland has beautiful fucking trains. Not cheap, but very pleasant and reliable. Whether the glass roof option up high into the mountains or nipping across the border to Germany.

I stayed more than once at Ada Lodgements, which is on the map (top left). To get to the prossie park, carry on down the main road that leads off the map until you get to a main junction and turn right. The industrial park is just a few yards further. Busiest at night, mid to late late evening of course. There was no problem taking anyone back to ADA.

Although Zurich is the main city for punting, it is not a beautiful city like the rest of Switzerland. Spreading one’s wings has its benefits.

Remember the cost of accommodation and everything else in Switzerland is not exactly cheap. Stuttgart isn’t that far by train.

Cheers FBM that's good info. I usually use public transport in Switzerland, as it's such a pleasure after being on the crowded and late running trains here. Calling ahead and booking sounds like the way to go!

If you ever get a chance try and go for the week before Lent, and on Dirty Thursday, to somewhere like Luzern. The entire city is in fancy dress, especially the WG. I was there this  year , and in one of the several pick up bars, was approached by Marge Simpson, Cat Women, Minnie Mouse, Hiawatha a ,cowgirl , a lady pirate, and a police women. And because it was fancy dress for all, nobody looked out of place.
I had already met the girl dressed as cat women a few days earlier, and nearly died when this cat women called me over by name, even took me for a drink. Crazy time and place.
