Author Topic: Do you go to a punt in disguise?  (Read 3029 times)

Offline WKD123

I recently noticed a thread on another forum about a door entry system which films the person approaching the door. There was a bit of a debate, with the general feeling that it was an invasion of privacy.

It got me thinking that I don't bother to disguise myself when going for a punt, but perhaps I should?  After all, there are plenty of cameras in this bloody country capturing your every move but aside from that, what if it just so happened that nosy neighbours, or doormen who had sussed what was happening started recording visits and there I am, in plain view?

So - do the more experienced peeps on this forum recommend wearing something to hide behind?  Scarf maybe in winter - sunglasses in summer or am I just being paranoid?

You do know UKE's the sister site to this one don't you.   :unknown:

The choice is yours really, walk up to the punt looking normal so nobody takes any notice of you, or disguise yourself so you stand out, therefore more noticeable.

I do not think the WG/maid will see you if you are too covered up - the only problem with a blessing in disguise

I normally go in disguise as I tend to have a smile on my face nobody except immediate family would recognise me wearing that.

Not a disguise but my company conducts building maintenance and if the punt if fairly local, within a 20 mile radius or so, then I wear a company fleece, I can potentially visit 10 different addresses a day, all that I have organised myself and would have been contacted directly by the potential client, there would be no colleague, friend or family member that would be surprised to see me knock on any door and it's a plausible excuse for being there for any nosey neighbour.

I don't go in disguise but it is not an unreasonable comment, there are cameras in the entrances of most establishments and normally people couldn't care less, but if an incident occurs on that day, though it maybe nothing to do with you,you have been recorded entering the establishment.

I always walk backwards when going to a punt, so the camera will only capture the back of my head.  ;)

Some of the paranoia on here about punting is getting ridiculous. I never worried about all this shit. I wouldn’t bother if I was that worried.

CCTV wasn't so common in your early days and when you go to parties though most punters are gentlemen, you still encounter a fair amount of nutters (I guess it is the same on a one to one basis).

C.c.t.v in hotels/block properties is typically recorded for 30-60 days and is reviewed only if an incident occurs. If your so worried wear a cap and angle your head down when passing camera.

A pair of sunglasses is extreme as it gets for me.

I put on a pair of glasses. If it works for Clark Kent that's good enough for me.  Most cctv cameras show such poor images anyway so why worry

A disguise ? Are you kidding ? Talk about making yourself stand out!

If I'm punting during daylight hours I check the best place to park and try to recce the area beforehand (to make sure it's not difficult to find the address I mean, Google maps can be handy provided you've been supplied a post-code prior - a few times I've been walking up & down a street looking for an exact flat or house number FFS)

I usually call the WG when I arrive so I can discreetly just go straight into the location - but a disguise - don't be ridiculous!

most cameras are not owned by people begin paid for sex or reviewed, best to just avoid prossies known to have cameras or mental problems.

Brilliant advice that, who's the first one the police are going to trace if something happens, the one in the cap avoiding being seen by the camera.

Don't think they won't find you, they'll scour surrounding cctv to identify you.

Unless the girl's coerced or trafficked you aren't doing anything illegal, just act normally and don't be paranoid.

No disguise, just as normal as possible so if anyone I see does recognise me, I can then say it was all above board went to see so and so, wrong address etc. But if someone recognises you when you are wearing a kind of disguise its harder to explain that away.

I share the OP's concerns and always go to a punt in my disguise:

If I'm visiting a private house or appartment, I will often wear a nondescipt fleece and carry a clip board. Looks plausible and if questioned by a neighbour I can always say I'm measuring up for carpets, windows, etc.
Hotels, I tend to keep my head down - looking at my mobile (usually following directions to the room). That way, it also makes it easier to walk through reception without making eye contact

I used to do that. I stopped doing it as I thought it too obvious, a typical punter's behavior :D

Going to a meet in a hotel I will often carry a laptop style shoulder bag or briefcase, dress respectably, be holding an imaginary conversation on the phone and look like I'm on a mission and know exactly where I'm heading. Some WGs' will give detailed destructions on how to find lifts stairs etc so you're not drawing attention to yourself looking for them. When I'm going into a parlour on a street I'll usually adopt a beanie hat pulled well down and shades if the sun is out.

I once called on a WGs' private house in a cul de sac and had a briefcase under my arm. When I got in the Lady questioned my briefcase and laughed when I explained it was a cover, insurance salesman etc coming to discuss a deal, What at 20:00 hrs, I don't think so was her reply!

The car will always be parked round the block a five min or so drive away. Never been challenged going into a hotel yet. One of the benefits of age is you don't arouse suspicion as much. Like being pulled by the plod driving around unless you do something stupid with your driving.

Was in Paris for a concert many years ago and travelled by coach and arrived in the hotel lunchtime so we were given the opportunity to see Notre Dame area. Popped into a 'cinema' in the area but walked up and down la Rue beforehand and got an ice cream as an excuse for being in the area and before I walked into the cinema I did a quick left-right double check to make sure there was nobody I knew nearby.

Good on you, even on holiday, you might feel save, thinking no one will know me, not so true, might not know you directly but will know someone in your family

In Italy, out cycling, and when I hear John (not my real name) and look round it one of my brother friends, and even on many flights I have had someone recognise me, so your never 100% safe, all ways now look round surroundings, even doubling back to check

When I punted with Tania Tattoo she was sharing af flat with other working girls. I saw a guy standing outside the flats dress in a heavy coat hat and scarf on a fairly mild day and I could tell instantly he was a punter. He was looking at his phone and must have got a message to come in and he paced into the flats. I knew he was going to the same place as me so I walked around the block then went in myself. I felt much more discreet just wearing my normal clothes and if anyone saw me I would just say I was visiting a friend. I imagine residents suspect when a particular flat is being used by working girls so there is a risk you could be seen on the way in. I was leaving a flat once and the next door neighbour was outside hanging washing on the landing. I felt her staring but I didn't know her and i just putit down as unfortunate timing.

When I leave a punt I normally ask the girl to check no one is in the hall of the flat if I suspect other girls are working there and they have always been happy to do. If you start or end punts on the hour or half hour you run the risk of bumping into someone. If I did see someone I know who happened to know what the premises were used for it would be a disaster for me either personally or professionally but the chances are small.

I had an outcall at my own place and I live down a deadend so that was a bit too risky and I wouldn't do it again. I live on the river with no houses or flats opposite so not much risk of curtain twitchers. The worker was dressed discreetly but still very glamouous and visited for an hour so wouldn't be hard for neighbours to know what was going on. When she left there were kids sitting in the street right outside my house playing but they were too young to know what was going on.

I know exactly what you mean. When they were all in school it wasn't a problem, now I seem to bump into younger relatives everywhere. I bumped into my son and his friend on the way to a punt once. Fortunately I was still in the shopping area and not entering a dodgy block of flats that I had no reason to be in.

Putting a hood up is a good idea. You may look like a punter but at least your relatives are less likely to spot you.

Offline PatMacGroin

Wear a disguise? No.

Trying to cover myself with hoodies, caps, sunglasses, scarves etc would make me feel more conspicuous. To nosy neighbours I believe it would look even more like I'm trying to hide something. If I did bump into friends or relatives I think they would notice the difference to my dress style and "fashion sense" (Some of them think I'm so tight they comment if they even notice me wearing a new shirt!).

A couple of weeks ago I had a moment of paranoia leaving a punt in a modern block of apartments. As the lift opened onto the lobby I saw a man standing opposite the the lift doors playing with his phone. He didn't get on the lift after me, just hung around in the lobby. Plus, it looked like he could have been holding the phone up high to take a photo, the paparazzi had caught me!

But, If he was taking a photo what the fuck would it show? A guy coming out of a lift? How incriminating! He could just as easily have been the next punter waiting for a message to say he could come up now. Or even a civvie guy so short sighted he had to hold the phone upto his face.

I don't have anything to loose from being outed apart from the personal embarrassment. However, I do value my privacy and over the past few years I have become much more aware of the prevalence of cameras recording so much of what everyone is doing at every moment of the day. Highlighted even more this Christmas when the top of a lot of gift lists included dashcams or even internal security camera systems.

If a WG was inclined to blackmail punters with captured photo's or video's it's now easier than ever. As has already been mentioned the best defence is a using a punting phone, a punting name and keeping any social media you use tightly locked up.

Unless you happen to be famous, then you probably are screwed.

Sounds like a plan but then if course the WG could find out where you work  and cause problems if she wanted.

In my mid twenties, I done a apprenticeship as a painter, and one of the jobs I was on, was in Glasgow city centre, turns out, some of the prostitutes would come round the site, a new office block, and offer the guys there services, and some of the guys took them up on there offer

I try to punt at least 30 miles from my home town. So dress as I normally would, only backfired on me once when a woman I know’s son moved into the area of the punt location. On a side issue regarding security and disguises I do recall some religious nut taking license plate numbers and pics of guys Entering and exiting sandys in Manchester, now closed, it was discussed in length there on the northern forum, which only reinforced my security measures of parking well away and walking to punt. That kept the car out of sight, being linked and then I would wear a baseball cap or hat, but that’s as most would have I done.

I do recall a punting in Manchester going to jackies parlour and I saw my then neighbor from my street walking out the supermarket, he was visiting friends in region, I was visiting a well known whore on a return to the industry...I advised him I was working in area for day, with my job at the time was logical

Punting phone, Just use an initial when making a booking instead of a full name, Always have a cover story as to why you are in the area and just act as casual as possible, I've been to a block of apartments before where its known that there is 6 different working girls in the different apartments and as I was going up the stairs someone was coming down and I just gave a little nod and hello as I would in any situation.
The cover story is always one I make sure I have to be in a certain area as if you are caught in an area you wouldn't normally visit thinking on the spot just doesn't work.
If you can't act casual and think you are being discrete chances are you stand out more than anyone.

I wonder how famous people get away with it?  My regular tells me a very famous footballer has used her, cannot confirm if that is true of course but I bet there are loads of actors and footballers who have this hobby for the same reasons we do but they can't exactly sneak into blocks of flats unnoticed and booking hotel rooms would be suspicious too.
