Author Topic: Poll - should brothels be legalised  (Read 5507 times)

I love America -------------- but they have a strange set of values ---------------- there are more guns than there are people but prostitution is illegal in almost every state.    :dash:

Yes, i am so glad i live here rather than their despite all this countries faults. :hi:

I'd agree with others that full blown parlours/brothels with several girls are not my thing. Nor would I be interested in some unit on an industrial estate. However, a two girl flat in a safe area is ideal for all concerned.

Surely more legal brothels would lead to more/better choice of places to go?
Security would be a good thing especially in some areas i think.....

I do not think that naturally follows. A legalised brothel would need to be licensed and thus an "anti-brothel" council such as some mentioned would refuse licenses. Some popular brothels that are tolerated would also find it hard to get a license.

It could lead to increased prices, when mini-cabs in London became licenced the rates increased because they could no longer draw benefits.    :bomb:

That would depend to an extent on the form of legislation and is another reason [apart from Harriet Harridan] why this is unlikely ever to become law.

I can't imagine any Government introducing a bill requiring Councils to allow brothels in their area if they wanted to.  Without such legislation, I can't see any Council wanting to be the first in the country to have a legal brothel in their area.  Especially with the way in which the situation seems  to be developing in Scotland.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2013/jul/15/scotland-prostitution-debate-criminalisation-legalisation

And without Government-sponsored legislation like that, it'd have to be a Private Member's [no pun intended] Bill, which Labour MPs like Harridan and the incredibly wealthy Fiona MacTaggart would line up to make sure it never became a law.

Was going to vote yes.

But having read comments re prices going up ended with dont know lol

But definitely think they should decriminalise (if it is criminal) for 2 girls to work a flat/property.

I voted yes.
It can be lonely working alone, nice to have the company. And also I would feel safer having someone else sharing with me, but I won't risk it now.

That's Pro$$ie Bullshit that they spout as an excuse for wanting to work together and save costs / increase their income, if they were concerned about their safety all they have to do is have some 16 stone bruser sit in the back garden and make sure they are ok, no chance of being accused of that being a brothel, oh but then they would have to pay him

If all prossies followed your guidelines, the cost would be transferred to the punter and the prices will increase. I could not care whether the prossie shared her house with one, two or three others. It would certainly be preferable to seeing some geezer bogging through the garden window.

I'm not sure prices would go up.  In germany the FKK and partytreffs run cheaper than independents.

Australia is a poor example to use as they are not an immigration target for eastern Europeans.

I actually voted NO.

Call me paradoxical (or various other things  :wackogirl:) but I did this because the current tolerated system works better than legalised parlours would.

Public support for legalised brothels is about zero. The restrictions that would be put in place would make parlours unworkable.

There would be a licensing system both for owners and the premises. Full CRB checks etc, premises - forget it if its near a school, church, on a residential street. Strictly limited number of parlours allowed in any given area.

There would then be a merciless clampdown on unlicensed places. Running an unlicensed brothel would be guaranteed prison. Probably make it an offence to work or punt in an unlicensed place.

No night shifts. Maximum 12 hrs per day opening, lights out by 11pm

Quite possibly a mandatory membership system for punters....proper ID required...would you want to hand over your passport at a knocking shop?

Then again, its better than what Harriet Harlot would do if she ever has any power again

Edited for you, Footyfan.

I seem to remember a Parlour closing in Bury 2 or 3 years ago, mainly, if I remember correctly, because of pressure from the muslim community in the area in which the Parlour was located.

Probbaly just jealous that a lot of women don't like seeing them because of their appalling behaviour.

They do have an influx from Asia. And I've heard that the effects are not unlike the EE influx to the UK.

I hear also that the situation in New Zealand as regards Brothels and prices etc is much better than Australia.

Voted No because I like it the way things are. Although the legal definition of a brothel should be relaxed as it is too draconian.

My one would do it for free, but clients seem uncomfortable even when I'm driven to late outcalls by him.

What's wrong with trying to save costs? Many of us do not want to work from our homes, hate hotels (not just the £ factor), do not want to pay £1k pcm for a bloody studio flat and know that extra costs mean seeing more guys and not being at our best? If it was not for the law I'd love to share an incall place as I'd not be pressured to see many clients, would not need to have security costs (I pay my driver good money and for my security calls/texts) and it would be fun company. But I dare not break the law, even if it is an ass in this case.

Brothels...I disagree with them in the traditional sense.

That is understandable, I don't want a pimp/driver/boyfriend/minder sitting outside my house.  :scare:

To do otherwise in some circumstances would be madness locally to me, too many country lane bookings at 23:00. Their choice *shrugs*

I could not do incalls with any guy in the building, would be bloody weird to me let alone a client. I think working with other ladies gives you a little more safety and the law needs to be amended accordingly.

Sorry, just semi rural locally, so often get bookings to houses in the middle of 'nowhere'. Driver never causes an issue now as I let them know, but it is safe to say that most gents do not want to glimpse another before or after a booking.

I live in a quiet cul-de-sac --------- if a strange guy was parked up for an hour someone would probably phone the police.   :scare:

Too damn right.

I had to sit in an adjacent room once whilst the guy before me finished his bonking session, and it wasn't a whole load of fun listening to it. Some guys say some very stupid things when they are engaged in sex, if that one was anything to go by. I don't suppose he would have liked it if he had known I was there (he'd turned up late). I also don't like it when girls arrange for their clients to pass each other on the way in and out.

But this could happen if brothels came in.  I've not been in a Parlour for about 7 years but when I used to visit Parlours in Manchester, Sandy's Parlours had a communal waiting area where, while punters couldn't hear what happened in the room , they had little option than to mix with others while they were waiting for their, erm, "turn to cum" [sorry!].

Other Parlours [Samantha's springs to mind] were much more rigid about discretion, ensuring that no client ever saw or heard another.

Most Parlours i have been in in London were/are very discreet, doesnt mean i havent bumped into other punters coming in as i was going out though. Doesnt bother me in the slightest to meet other punters but i obviously know it does many guys so discretion should be the rule in my view. ;)

I used to visit a "Sauna" in Kentish Town called "Omega", you had no choice but to mingle with other punters.
