It might also be worth adding here that anyone involved in the paid sex industry may at some time be approached by newspaper journalists who may even offer 'riches' in exchange for information.

Remember many journalists are second only to politicians in the hypocrisy stakes - none of them for example have ever paid for sex themselves  -  and all they are interested in is getting a story. They will misquote, twist the truth or do whatever it takes in order to get something published that will provide them with a living. Most of them are NOT, despite what they may claim, trying to help anyone but themselves.

If approached by a journalist, and many of them will employ extremely clever tactics in order to secure a story, a polite 'no comment' is strongly advised.
Failing that just tell them to 'fuck off'. :D
Whatever you do however, do not get involved with these vultures.

I had an email from one recently. He wanted to know if I had ever been paid by a local council to see a disabled client. Utter imbecile. Apparently he then doorstepped a couple of other girls from the site he found our details on, and was quite vile.

Good advice, unless they offer at least 10 grand of course.  :D

I had the same one you did. I politely explained that it would hardly be very discrete for councils to be paying local WGs for such services, and we'd hardly share it with a journalist if it did happen. That was probably too much! Another time I had someone ring withheld number, saying he was a journalist working freelance. I declined to comment.

At no point were any monies offered not that it would make any difference, well perhaps the odd million.

No, he didn't offer me money, something to do with being interested in my side of the story..

Another one after a freebie then :)

More importantly, do not let a working girl find out your real ID! Then journalists cant get involved in the first place!

Surely no WG worth her salt would identify a client or a potential client to public glare/scrutiny.  :diablo:

I hope not.

However, a hypothetical situation, if I may. A WG is approached by a journalist working for a tabloid, who has information that she has been seeing a well known public figure. The are going to run the story anyway, but if the WG co operates then instead of a nice centre page full length shot of her, real names published etc there will be a blurred pic and a sympathetic viewpoint towards her on the story...if she is prepared to help them. Perhaps then isnt as cut and dried as a lady exposing a client, all the time anyway. Always better if you have something to lose to protect yourself.

The relationship between client & prossie should be one of discretion,
at all times.
It's us against them.... ;)

This probably happens/has happened... be sure that they really do have the story (and are not just social engineering your cooperation) AND get promise in writing >if at all poss.<  Call Max Clifford? ;-)

Or, "Thank you for approaching us with the story. We'll help you shaft a punter who called you names and then to top it off we'll say that we approached you and said we'd run the story anyway, and by the way here's the number of a publicist . . ."

That would be quite unthinkable of course.  :diablo:

Hmm. Not really. The situation I mention actually occurred, with a friend of mine in London. There person that owned her apartment was a author, and he was renting apartments to her and a rent boy, in Edgware Road and Earls court. The journalist involved, Roger Insall, paid her maid for the information. Needless to say, she declined to help. She then had to leave her apartment and England, as the pictures were somewhat of a shock to her in laws. It isn't only working girls that go to the press, those friendly agencies and brothel keepers do too.

All very well if you are a manky old cab driver, what about a well known politician or TV personality.
