However, that's where the positives end. I was hovering outside her place and called at the allotted time. No answer. I texted. Nothing. About 5 mins into time, I called again and then got through. She said she was shopping but was close and would be back in 5 mins. I was in two minds at this point, but having scoped out her place, could see there was only one entrance, so I stood a safe distance away and waited.
Around 8 minutes later, I saw two ladies walking quite quickly toward the flat entrance. Linda looked just like on her photos with the pronounced eyebrows. Her friend was a dark Brazilian (I assume) with permed blonde (dyed) curly hair - relatively chunky, and waited near where I was, also watching the entrance a safe distance away. Linda's minder? Photographer? Who knows.
I felt a little bit uncomfortable about the potential for being observed or god knows what so I left. As I was walking toward the tube, about 3 minutes after having seen Linda walk in to her apartment, I received a text saying she was ready - at that point, I realised that I had made the right decision - not even a courtesy wash, so I would get eau de sweat begat of walking quickly back. I called back, made my excuses and continued walking. She wasn't happy, but by that time, 15 minutes had passed since we were due to start. I felt a little bad about getting her to interrupt her shopping trip, but none of this would have happened if she had remembered in the first place!
