Why would the police need to trace your phone when you have called or text or even seen an escort.
The only time this would be needed is if you had attacked or robbed her as seeing escorts is LEGAL unless she is forced or trafficked.

it is advisable to get a punting sim just so that the escort cannot contact you when you are at home or work etc as some do for an unknown reason.  It has nothing to do with the police at all.

I use a different PAYG phone, however, it is registered to me.

The only thing that concerns me is if a WG was seriously attacked, the police would want to follow up on all her clients which could be awkward. It seems that it's getting more difficult to have a truly anonymous mobile as you have to use a debit/credit card to top up, I think that they have stopped the old system of vouchers.

In my defence, it's been a very long day, at the end of a long week!

Okay, haystacks; I'll let you off! ;)

I must confess that, despite not having a Mrs R L any more, I'm toying with the idea of getting a phone just for punting.

But only in case my normal mobile were to fall into the wrong hands, you understand! ;)

You can still go into retailers and top-up you phone via E-Vouchers. There's no need to register a SIM card, simply use cash to purchase the voucher and top-up. Look for the top-up symbol at the shop

Thank you.

I'm single, but use a punting phone simply so that I don't have to worry about when the wgs I see get in touch, if they need to. So I can safely leave my normal mobile out on a desk when at work, or in it's cradle in my car, or out when others are around, and not have to explain the nature of the texts/calls I'm receiving! They can go to the punting phone, which is only switched on and answered when it's safe.

Aye; that's the way I was thinking.

If my phone were to be picked up, with some of the names from here that are in it, . . . ! :scare:

Do people use another sim card or a whole new phone with a new sim card when it gets to calling escorts, or do you use your regular number..

Unfortunately I use the same sim card I use to call friends and family, which is stupid cause even if you delete your phone log and messages, if the police wanted, they could phone up your service provider and get EVERY message and phone call made with that number..

I have bought another sim card, just need to get cheap ass phone, and then top up the sim card, but I haven't got to that yet..
I would also advise to call from locations not close to your work/home cause they can trace everywhere the phone has been..

A few years ago i received a most unexpected phone call from a DCI in Bristol.   There had been a rather nasty murder involving several people,
and one of those involved had been constantly ringing me night and day  including the weekend of this murder ( asshole ) For whatever reasons i had already  decided that i didn't want to see him prior to this alleged murder taking place.

Anyway to cut a long story short the police rang me after obviously checking all the suspects numbers and i  now  have to explain why this person who i had never met in my life  had been ringing me in between allegedly  shooting someone and drinking champagne.

Luckily the police were extremely nice and pleasant and very understanding about it with  me but it was a very nerve racking situation for me as it was totally unexpected

So unless you have committed some sort of major crime you wont even be on the police wavelength

Very wise  - there was a case of a guy in Scotland  a few years ago who murdered a taxi driver and he was only caught because he dropped the top up voucher nearby and had paid for the top up voucher with his credit /debit card  The police admitted that had he not paid for the top up with his card they would not have found him and charged him with murder

in order to be reasonably untraceable  never accept  those free sim card that you have to register with on line or in a shop  and only pay for sim cards in cash and also top up vouchers in cash as well

What has the muder of a taxi driver got to do with phoning a prostitute.   :unknown:

Only prostitutes need unregistered SIM cards ----- to stop being traced by HMRC.   :hi:

Quite so. And even if you're a single guy, there's a simple test you can try at home. Google your regular mobile number. If it comes up anywhere, time to get a punting SIM.

op was bothered about his phone being traced by the police - i pointed out that its not just his phone that can be traced  but the tops up can also be traced to the phone if he were to pay by credit or debit card

Thanks blue.
I'll have to get a new unregistered sim I think.

I feel a bit ambivalent about this as I don't like the idea of untraceable mobiles out there from the point of view of threatening/abusive calls and of course terrorism, however, I don't relish the idea of PC Plod knocking on the door and asking my Mrs why dear hubby has been ringing WG's for the last few years!

why would the police be doing that?

Online smiths

why would the police be doing that?

Say a WG he had punted with was sadly attacked or even murdered by another, the police would go through her phone and computer and want to speak to people whose details they found. That might result in the police turning up at the family home and lets face it a matter as serious as that trumps the police considering being discreet, or at least could.

I have a punting phone for my basic security, not to avoid the police personally. The above scenario has never knowingly happened to me in many years of using mobiles so is so unlikely as to be something that i am not worried about, i also hope it will never be necessary to locate me for this reason anyway.

Knowing the profession they were in I would expect the law to be quite discrete when going through her numbers, I doubt your other half would know anything about it unless you happen to be involved
