What you could do is join a campaign to outlaw open DNS resolvers. Write to your MP. The resolvers are the propagation vector for this denial of service attack. Much like an SP offering bareback, they should be seen as the pyriah of the internet 

There must be a thousand and one other places to advertise your services that don't involve AW or the internet. Technology is horribly flakey, and only works by magic. Sometimes.

This isn't the first time it happens and it wont be the last either   (although its defiantly the longest time as far as i know )  My advice would be to get your own website and do more advertising on other sites  and other directories
    Its never wise to put all your work into one basket and rely on that one basket.   I am touring at the moment In Wales but still ticking along nicely because I have my own website and don't just rely on adultwork for my clients  Yes its useful very useful but not when its working it aint  but its just another place to advertise on
If i only used adultwork I  would be down by about £400 by now at least  after paying for the my hotel for 4 nights and then not getting any work but because i have other adverts and websites its not affected me as badly as it has done for other escorts

The post is adultwork down actually relates to the original post which was when adultwork went down in Jan 2011  Every other time that its gone down girls just post on it to ask if its down or not if they cant log in 

Saafe just kept the post up their because adultwork can go down a fair amount but it only generally for a short amount of time like 1 -2 hours  I don't think its ever been down that long

Its a pain in the arse but thankfully some of us have our own sites which means we wont be that quiet. Wonder if we will get refunds for being featured (doubt it they normally dont).
At least it answers the question why so many girls have their own sites.  Keeping your eggs all in one basket is never a good idea. Aw is proof of that as seems to be offline more and more.

Morning, Saying and doing are two different things they are getting over 200,000  connection attempts per second from thousands of different IP addresses, Its obviously very well organized attack. Imagine how many infected computers are out their infected with the Trojan. The problem they have is In a DDoS attack, the incoming traffic flooding the victim originates from many different sources – potentially hundreds of thousands or more different computers. This effectively makes it impossible to stop the attack simply by blocking a single IP address; plus, it is very difficult to distinguish legitimate user traffic from attack traffic when spread across so many points of origin. You can get new hardware by deployment of a reverse proxy – in particular a collection of reverse proxies spread across multiple hosting locations. A reverse proxy is somewhat akin to a bouncer at a nightclub, deciding which guests are allowed into the party, i.e. where the real web server is. But this takes time to set up.

I think its happened because AW have recently tightened up its membership policy to stop fraud from these Eastern European Gangs, Which is a great idea and i agree with, but the upshot is you get the attention of all these gangs and organised groups that traffick girls in mainly from Europe and Asia, I'm sure you have all noticed the increase in girls from Eastern European countries A lot of these gangs and organised groups have created fake profiles and trying to get money from Private Galleries, and because of the change of policy by AW, This is another way that the Gangs are saying "Look we can bring you to your knees"

@Meetingdiversity It’s difficult to say, It’s all about scale and how good your network is at handling traffic be it from a simple SYN flood through to a more complex application layer attack (like LOIC/HOIC or Dirtjumper) they all seek to overwhelm the network servers. Ill try give you an example “Twitter or Facebook” The reality is that with cloud services today, scale is the answer. Twitter's daily traffic volume would be considered a DDoS attack by a typical enterprise that doesn't see that amount of volume. if the attacker can generate network traffic at a “higher rate” than your network's Internet connection can handle, it will be hard to avoid a meltdown. But it’s a catch 22 If you expand your network there’s nothing stopping the attackers infecting more computers. So going back to your question Yes it can go on for days but hopefully it wont.

luckily i have money put to one side for such emergencies as this so i'm not panicking just yet. however i will admit that all my work does come from aw so if it doesn't sort itself out in the next week or so i'm going to be in a bit of a pickle and will have to explore new options because im due to move in 4 weeks time and will need at least a couple of grand for furniture etc.. i'll still have all my regulars so i wont be completely broke, but i'll obviously get no new clients and i have no idea how to make a website or where to advertise as i've used aw for years now. ggrrrrrr. i know a lot fo you don't like aw but i like the site because you can see a guys feedback etc. it just makes me feel a lot safer about escorting in general..    but yeah, if it doesn't get sorted i'm wondering what all us working girls are going to do? viva street has gone wayyy down hill over the last year or so and i point blank refuse to pay good money for an advert that i have no control over, but there isn't really anywhere else to get a lot of business from. one of you guys needs to make a site sharpish! i swear you'll make a fortune lol! i'd do it myself but wouldn't have a bloody clue where to start    xxxx
