I couldn't be bothered to read it all, just wondering what the scam was this time!

Ah, spotted one at least - we arrange all the flights etc.,

As someone who lives in an area where there are lots of people with Ukranian grandparents who settled here as "Displaced People" after World War 2, I was very interested by this AW "advert".

I've already got my holiday plans for the next couple of years but I could see me posssibly be tempted by this in years to come.

Well, tbh, not being a regular researcher on AW, I wasn't; but I'm grateful for the warning, chaps.

This girl for instance is Nastya Shevchenk from Saratov which is Russia and about 1000 miles from Ukraine (Kiev). You can find her here which looks like Russia's answer to Facebook. I doubt she's even old enough TBH.

Avoid, avoid, avoid ..... as I think we are all clearly very aware.

There'll be some very lonely men who out of desperation might be tempted by this.

But even they will see the Adultwork warning at the top.

So I don't think they'll find anyone gullible for their scam.

Sadly, there will be some that fall for it. I've read it through and psychologically it has been written in a way to specifically target the lonely and the desperate. It plays on insecurites, fear and well known dislikeable truths. It also attempts to build false trust from the outset using a 'woman' to start and reassuring with familiar 'names' and 'backgrounds' that you will more likely relate to and accept.

It's almost a masterpiece in manipulation.

I must tip my hat to AW on these banner alerts, it's about time they started trying to help protect other site users.  :hi:

Quite apart from Russia & Ukraine being on my "must visit before I die" holiday list [which is why I was initially seduced by the AW 'ad'], I occasionally fall into the first of those categories but have managed to avoid the second, so far!

And I must  :hi: mine to those more streetwise members of this Board than yours truly!  God help any lonely, desperate punter who sees this 'ad' but not this thread.

RL if you are a lone traveller I would recommend trying to find a travel company that specialise in organised group tours of Ukraine. It's not a place for the faint hearted or anybody that's not streetwise as you put it. If you fancy sampling one of the Ukrainian beauties I'm sure there'll be opportunities to break away from the group.

Don't get involved in the 'Russian Bride' tours they are complete scams.

Thanks, skittish; that's the type of company I usually go to for all my holidays.  For a brief moment on here [thinking with my cock, not my brain - what a surprise, eh?!], I thought this might have been one such.

Oh trust me; having once been married, my motto [and with not too much disrespect to the late Mrs R l] is "Once bitten, twice shy!" ;) :D

Strikes me that it is a Russian, EE dating scam - I haven't read it all though. Loads of them about apparently and they are master scammers.

I have read one or two blogs on http://mongerplanet.com/2009/08/25/mongering-in-odessa/ may be worth a read if you are interesting in punting out there. Use the dating sites and you're guaranteed not to get any action.

I have spent a little time in the ukraine for work and came away with mixed feelings

went to a mining town of kremenchug ( what a dump makes Barnsley where i live look good) women dress to the 9's, blokes are thugs.

Both looking for westners to scam  (meal in a hotel - starter , steak, desert, a few beers and a coffee and brandy £125)
$380 @ 3 hours for a good looker from the lapdancing club in the hotel (Bakkara accord ) and she was miserable and tried to get away with next to nothing

But its free from oppresive health and safety and you feel theres oppertunites to grab - looking forward to going back
