When contributing earlier today to the thread on "Regulars vs new faces", it got me thinking about the difference between "frequent" and "regular" visits.
I perhaps ought to begin this paragraph by saying that I may be mildly autistic. Since I retired, I limited myself to 1 x 2-hr punt per month; and had 2 "regulars" whom I saw once every three months on a routine that I saw one in [say] January/April/July & October and the other in [say] February/May/August & November. Don't worry, I wasn't celibate in March, June, September or December; they were the months I saw someone new from my "2c" list!
However, about 15 months ago, I found someone from that list who I felt really comfortable with, so I ditched the routine above. She then became my only "regular"; and I've seen her about every 3 or 4 weeks since. However, as I posted in https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=11672.0
, the downside of seeing a "regular" so frequently is that things can become too cosy between you and the punt is less enjoyable.
So I've gone back to seeing girls from my "2c" list, one of whom I've already seen twice and have arranged another meeting with her for some weeks in the future - trying not to spend too much punting! I could envisage becoming a "regular" but not necessarily a "frequent" client of hers.
And it's that which set me wondering - how do we: punters; and WGs; define a "regular"?
