Did you tell them you'd been before? The first time I went there When they asked if I'd been there before I was honest and said no. Joking apart, and noting what you say about room sizes, I would definitely ask for a bigger room during the summer months as I felt, even with the fan on, that the air-conditioning was poor in the very small room  (only big enough for mattress) and that a bigger room would have been better during the heatwave.
