Pity there wasn't an agreement like this in Glasgow. I used to love going to New Blythswood, Club Royale or the Carlton club after work but that prick House fucked up my fun.

I didn't think much of the Glasgow saunas but at least they were there.  Prostitution is good for non users....rapes lower, less divorce and less sexual harassment for women.

Even if a guy doesn't hit up prostitutes he knows they are there.  Take that away and you've got all sorts of problems.

I am also of the belief that the saunas allow prostitution to be practiced safely and am happy that -as many on here predicted when the raids occurred - their future looks safe.  My only worry now is that because this agreement has become public knowledge it will give the do-good politicians something to aim at.

How many do you want? Its not a shortage of saunas in Edinburgh, its a relative lack of girls, and indeed of customers. The reason most girls pack in the sex business is a lack of customers. we could do with losing carols and indeed scorpio, any of the girls who were any way decent could move to the new town or blair st.

I think what he means is there could be some opening in Glasgow. I wish they would because I prefer a sauna than booking escorts.

I'm not sure if the guidelines apply in Glasgow. It was an agreement between Edinburgh council and the local police.

I see Rhoda Grant and her like are not going to take decision lying down ( if you'll pardon the expression ). Nice to see our esteemed elected representatives are on the case of society's great evils like driving at 25 mph and consenting adults coming to a financial arrangement.  Do these cunts live in a parallel universe?  :dash:

very true. Her and her kind like that arse kezia who if they had been elected in scotland were going to criminalize buying sex. What scot labour do now is interesting as corbyn is totallly the opposite. Thing is that scotland in many ways and some areas are obsessed with morals and or religion. That rhoda arse from the western isles really does think that god will strike her down. ok and hubby playing away may have shaped her views! The snp have thrown her private bills out several times now   but she will be back again this new session. Snp do not have a majority but there are now some greens who will hopefully help to fuk her up

Last night, Highland and Islands MSP Rhoda Grant insisted that steps must be taken to reverse the policy.

I can see her going ahead, to make this document invalid, and passing some sort of new law, but it wont include making the selling of sex illegal

Anyone who doubts the lack of sincerity and often downright hypocricy of your average politician only had to listen to Mizzzz Dugdale's TV interview yesterday, after one of the few remaining socialists not driven from Labour by T.Bliar and his ersatz tories was re-elected as leader with a larger vote, to see it proved conclusively. She absolutely decried the man B4 the election but when asked about har loyalty to him now she avoided giving an answer to almost all questions and simply concentrated on parroting some kind of party line. Don't doubt for a minute that if this unprincipalled oportunist sees a personal advantage to be gained she will lead the charge to get the saunas shut and all sex working outlawed.

Don't worry, if she's still in charge in a few years, Labour (Scotch'ish division) will be as relevant as the Lib-Dems.

That fucking idiot is even worse than her predecessor.

Though I do hope the Lib-Dems can be relevant for a little longer as Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP has come out in favour today of maintaining the now not so secret arrangement between everyone.

Yes, but does...

... mean we are back to square one.  I can see another round of parliamentary debates coming before long.

 Here we go again.

As long as it stays in Hollyrood I don't think we have too much to worry about, as that hot air factory has proven that collectively they could not organise the proverbial piss up in a place that makes beer.

Offline S.X. MacHine

Despair not.
For those of you who have followed the deliberations of the Home Affairs Select Committee of the House of Commons, previously chaired by one Keith Vaz before he got found out, you will note that seriously common sense was spoken by the MPs. They recommend legalising brothels as a matter of urgency.
They all took the sensible view that the law should be there to protect prossies, not harass and further marginalise them.
Now, I know this only applies to Englandshire, but I hope this refreshing breeze of common sense might now waft into Holyrood.
Have we passed 'peak feminism'? Here's hoping.

I take it you live in wonderland and have no experience of Holyrood where they could give Mr. Farage lessons in arrogance.

Yeah, Auldie, I've spoken to a few and once they've been in post a while they do end up believing their own propaganda.
That said, continued attempts by the unspeakable Rhoda Grant to ban commercial sex have always been rejected.
I think the direction of travel on legalisation in England may help move the debate north of the border in favour of decriminalising brothels. Just think if the city fathers of Glasgow no longer had a say over stopping saunas.

Daily glimpses should turn her husband into the sex industry's biggest customer. The bastard's only 53 but looks like she should've been drawing a thoroughly undeserved pension long ago.

Still, won't be long before her party's as irrelevant as her arse-end-of-nowhere, puritan, greatin'-faced-bastard tcheuchter constituency. Mind the shite those neanderthals kicked up a few years ago when they started running a ferry on a Sunday? I wonder if they still tie up the swings in the park for the "lord's day." Fuck knows how they can live like that, the miserable old cunts that they are. No wonder Grant's turned out the way she is.

Aren't they called the Wee Frees or something.  If you ever take a long weekend in the north west or the western isles it's beautiful then you meet the residents when you dare to commit the sin of doing some laundry and hanging it out on a Sunday.  This happened to us.  They came round knocked on door and asked us to remove it from the washing line because it was the Sabbath.

These people are actually mental. It's an illness. This is Western Europe in 2016 and they behave like it's 1647 and are looking for women who float when held down under water.  :dash:

Sigh! My local MSP, another SNP moralist who doesn't have a clue about the real world!   :dash:

There is a hard core within the SNP and Labour who want to introduce the Nordic model despite plenty of evidence showing it to be an utter failure for Working girls and Punters alike!

The Nordic model leads to increased sexual violence, trafficking of girls, pimps and increased prevalence of STD's!

Allowing punters to go to discrete establishment, that offer clean girls using appropriate protection and enough custom to allow girls to refuse service to dangerous punters is proven to provide far better outcomes for all than the alternative Nordic model of criminalise the Punters and shutting down the parlours.

I started my punting career in Brighton and the local Police had a discrete agreement with the local punters and parlours to not interfere as long as there was no pimping, no regular outbreaks of sexual violence at those parlours, the girls/punters used appropriate protection, the girls got checked regularly and NO STREET WALKERS! It worked very well and everybody (except the third wave radical feminists) were happy!

I also tell them I had to wash them as they were covered in various bodily fluids from the night before and that I need a clean/dry pair for work on Monday morning.

This article has done what many have done before - basically name all the places where you can go on an on the spur moment for sex. All that was missing was "our journalists visited the premises and found out that sex was on offer, they made their excuses and left"  yeah right.

We didn't take it down till dry. We were leaving early and found an old series 2 landrover parked over the drive.  Strange people - an empty road straight through village for more than half mile - and parked right over an 8 foot gate. No locks though so rolled it out way.  Like say strange people.

Yes. Would have expected to be helped on way rather than 'detained' but maybe they were waiting for Lord Summerisle arriving for the trials to begin.

As I say, beautiful country, strange people.
