At fifthy something, I need some assistance in obtaining and maintaining wood. Have tried Viagra and Cialis which work with an unpredictable lag time (sometimes several hours!) and so am looking for natural or herbal alternative. Once tried a Chinese product containing l-Arginine and found it comparable. Recently ordered Drivelan said to be a mixture of extracts but received Man Pride a gel to apply half an hour before action. No effect. Suspect this Is an Internet bait and switch rip-off. Appreciate any advice from other punters either on better use of cialis and viagra or alternatives.

Ive commented on a couple of threads this week and Il let you know what Ive said and my experiences and why I come to these conclusions. Im an anabolic steroid user, when I come off cycle, my libido and wood as you put it are often iffy for 4-5 weeks. Apart from the prescription meds I use to get myself back up and running, Ive found that Zinc, magnesium ( ZMA ) is helpful, another supplement called acetyl l tyrosine is amazing for giving me morning wood and a general sense of hightened libido and powerful erections.
If I use viagra I usually pop a 50mg pill 30 or so minutes before I invite a girl over, dosent seem to effect my ejaculation like some people say it does but everyone is different. Never had a problem maintaining wood after a viagra, effects usually last for 3-4 hours.

Given the interesting feedback and thanks again for that, I thought to add a few details which might be of general interest. As mentioned I have morning wood which dissipates after urination but that as others say is not conclusive. Well, here is my input. I have used a herbal alternative called Wolfberry Formula, it was out of stock recently so opted for another alternative called EL Complex.

Wolfberry Formula, tends to give me headaches unless taken on an empty stomach i.e. take it right at the beginning of the day when you get up. It can also cause a bunged up nose.

EL Complex, seems to be better in the result that you want i.e. a very firm erection and less noticeable symptoms. I have had one night when I could not get to sleep the fact I was getting hard every two minutes might have had something to do with it.

The problem is that we expect GP's to be experts in everything and they're not. Many are still prescribing statins, something I predicted many years ago would turn out to be an absolute scandal since the statistics prove that overall 'all causes' mortality rate actually increases in the statin taking demographic. In fact only this week reports were published stating that a Mediterranean diet was actually more effective at lowering cholesterol without the side effects. Many GP's are even still prescribing low fat, high carb diets despite the fact that its now conventional accepted wisdom that sugar and not fat is the cause of obesity.

The reason I don't agree with the morning wood hypothesis is because the triggers are different. Morning wood is a natural physiological response designed to stop you pissing the bed; caused by a full bladder putting pressure on the prostate. Do you maintain wood once that pressure is relieved? It's rather too simplistic to say that it's all in the mind just because you manage a piss hard because you don't have the same powerful physiological trigger when it comes to sex. As I said, I think many men who manage morning wood won't necessarily manage to maintain an erection during sex.  I have to say though that I'm partly with you on the psychological impact. If I don't find the women sexually attractive then there ain't a lot she can do to get me hard so this has simply narrowed down the field for me. However, if you're overweight or even obese, drink a lot, smoke and generally lead an unhealthy lifestyle then the psychology should not be your primary focus.
