Aye, I wouldnae do it, but I can sort of understand the appeal. Like anything the more illicit, the more enticing it becomes to some.

Back in the day, I regularly picked up Dundee street prossies along the old Broughty Ferry road or Princes street, but not for 30+ years. Some feckin' great times though, the early to mid eighties was a bit of a golden age for Dundee street prostitution

If you are determined to scratch an itch (and you probably will be itching afterwards) the most likely places are Salamander Street or John's Place at the Leith links . Just be warned though that the cop shop is just around the corner and that anyone streetwalking in these days of the internet and saunas etc. is almost certainly doing so to feed a drug habit . I have sympathy for their situation but I wouldn't touch them with your bargepole

Salamander street is the place you're after, or it was a few years ago when I had that itch to scratch.  Wouldn't even think of it nowadays though, it'll be a grim shag.

Not really many of them around nowadays, Edinburgh (as far as I know) is very quiet.
You'll be lucky to find any out and about, not that there is none, just very few and far between.
Some nights you might come up with zero.
Like many places (in Scotland) they are a dying breed.
So if you drive around leith links (park) you might find one or two.
Some have already mentioned the streets but here are a few...
Salamander Street and Johns place as already mentioned. (just confirming the activity there)
Salamander place and Links place (especially at the corner between the two, or at least used to be activity there).
Duncan place (this leads on to Johns place).
Links gardens, Gladstone place, Claremont park (joins with Salamander street)
Thats the general condensed area now.  Don't know if there is anything outwith this area, perhaps someone may enlighten us?

Heads up from a female prospective, most escorts are signed up to get a sort of 'bulletin' email/text of any police reports of assaults on sex workers and 90% of Edinburgh reports are from Leith Links/Salamander St. The police are definitely down there, as are support services for sex workers (social workers from the criminal justice system). I'd not recommend it unless you have nothing to lose.

About 10 years ago I was down Links Place/Salamander street (not punting, strangely enough) and in the brick alcove things on the side of some office building there were about three couples busy at it as I walked past.
