Free Condoms from your local GP practice

I read online that one can ring up one's local GP practice and get free condoms i.e a big brown bag of assorted condoms. Has anybody done this and if so can one go through the process of how to attain them when one sets foot at the reception desk.

A question I have about this is how discreet is it once you get to the front desk, I have this concern as my GP is tiny so if i was to say I wanted some condoms everyone in the waiting area would be able to hear me LOL.

Secondly does one simply pick up the condoms from the reception or does one have to see a nurse or doctor? If one does need to see one of the latter two, how detailed are the questions regarding your recent sexual history as I am not keen discussing this with anybody as its on own personal business, also does one have to do checks etc.

P.S how often can one go back to the GP to refill their condom supply, i.e can one go back every month to get their condoms?

You can get them at the Clinic when you go and have your regular Std check. as a punter I am sure you do this regular.

they do give them away free at doctors and pharmacies to under 25's

Though it's hardly expensive to get your own for civvies banging. Though if your over 25 a tight wad and don't get yourself tested you can always go down the terrace Higgins route and go to some Gay drop in centre and get some.

Might meet yourself a nice fella too and you will have plenty of the extra thick ones too

My son and his girlfriend went to the local family planning clinic and asked for condoms, they were given 36 that were meant to last 3 months. They said bit of a problem here we have sex a few times a day NOT a week. Fucking clueless idiots.

£1 shops sell condoms? How many can you get for a quid? 1 condom for a quid is a rip off!! a condom is like worth 1p max ...thats how much they cost to make...i dont want to pay a bomb for them!!!

depends on the GP surgery. Some refuse to have anything to do with it as its not on the GP budget, but comes from central funds. Others put goody bags in reception or toilets for people to pick up. Last time I went to a walk-in centre at a medical centre near Manchester for a routine check (one of my contacts had chlamydia - I was clear) I had a bag of 50 handed to me by an STI nurse who was trying to get rid of them.......

remember though, its really aimed at teenagers. Best thing you can do is phone up and ask, but you probably stand more chance at a walk-in centre than anywhere else

Well its free to go to an NHS GUM of course, and they might give him some condoms though I never ask as I can afford to buy my own.

And if you specifically ask them for it. You can get the very good EXS Air thin condoms. And if you tell them you book working girls they will give you two bag fulls as opposed to the usual one.

In an industry where prices are around £80+ per hour exchange between punters and escorts I find it a disgrace that either party should add to the NHS budget by seeking a handout of free condoms!

I regularly visit GU clinics.
They are so much better than a decade ago  the awful swab inside the dick. Now it's painless blood test. They prescribe canesten, antibiotics and other drugs in my experience and offer complete confidentiality.

OP you do realise you can still get HPV/genital warts and herpes from skin to skin contact and a condom does not stop these STIs. So it would be safer for you to get checked out regularly if you are having casual sex
