I use a cheap android phone with a giffgaff sim, that I only use for punting

I set up an account on Metro bank a while back, and regularly pay small amounts £50 Per month into it, and only use this card for punting cash. I hide this card in one of my shoe soles when on assignment.

I make use of rental cars

Virtual machine - I use vmware - I also have an instance in Amazon EC2
I started using virtual machines about 10 years ago for banking and covert purposes.
I tend to use linux, as it's what I'm used to.

I use a password manager like lastpass to handle all my logins to AK,UKP, SS, etc, so I never have to remember any passwords.  I use my punting phone to authenticate me initially.

I boot my VM, and it gives me a desktop that is totally separate from any machine.  I also use this for red tube/pornhub etc., and store photos of my handiwork

On 1st visit - especially when fuck all FB - then i leave personal stuff in the motor.  Even better when staying over in a hotel.  Much safer.  But when on subsequent visits - with AW burds with pukka FB & rated on here - then am much more relaxed.  Have been on punts after meetings in central london with wallet / biz cards / mobile - the full monty.  Have been fine & if the wheels come off i'll deal with it then.  Punting is supposed to be fun.  A bit of subterfuge now & again gets the adrenalin pumping.  But deffo not all the time

I have to question some of the logic to this....

1) So you create more copies of your machine on the cloud and on a USB stick.  Regardless of how secure, that has to create more opportunities to be found out, to drop your USB stick, for anonymous to hack the cloud and sell your data on Silk Road.

2) Regular small transactions create a pattern that would raise eyebrows.  (I occasionally do anti money laundering work).

3) Hiding a bank card in the sole of your shoe appears a bit pointless.  Firstly, who has shoes with a sole they can hide something in?  Or do you mean you just put it in the shoe, between your foot and the insole?  Either way, it raises a hell of a lot more questions than simply being in your wallet.  If you've already put your existing wallet in the safety deposit box, why not just have a small, cheap punting wallet rather than hiding the card in your shoe?

4) Rental cars are hardly untraceable.

5) Again, creating more places in which your passwords are stored.  Why bother?  You've gone to this level of effort, surely you can remember a few passwords.

6) This wouldn't look at all weird to anyone who found the piece of paper you had scribbled this one

Actually they don't, I couldn't open a UK account, so I had a mate do it for me ages ago. I supposed they could trace it back to the account I top it up from.
I expect the NSA / SiS can see every word I type here and can identify anyone of us should they choose if they thought we were in any way a threat to national security.

Me too. , that's why I use cash.  I know a bit about  credit card and banking fraud countermeasures.

I don't collect it at 2am. normal hours, i do risk leaving my kit in a safe at work sometimes. I have many work locations.

Interesting thread OP. Whilst I don't go to these extreme measures, I thought the best idea you had was the safety deposit box containing your punting phone. I've often thought that such a facility could be shared amongst a group of punters. There could be such stashes in places in various locations all over a city. In fact they don't need to be safety deposit boxes - place the phone and charger in a Tupperware box, maybe along with Viagra, tape it underneath a bridge, or hide it in a tree stump or anywhere else it's unlikely to be found then publish the GPS coordinates. This would allow more spontaneous punting.
