What does anyone make of these profiles?  What on earth is the motivation behind them?

They’re clearly bogus, since in every case the “girl” has never returned to her profile – there are no signings-on after the date the profile was created.  In the most recent example, the profile was set up two days ago, in the earliest over three weeks ago. No genuine girl creates a profile and then never goes back to it.  Indeed a genuine new girl will be particularly keen at the start, and will initially sign on every day.

Other oddities are:

1.  There’s no “front-page” photograph, so the profiles will anyway generate little interest.

2.  There’s no Private Gallery, so they’re not Private Gallery scammers.

3.  Adult Work hasn’t put up its usual warning about the authenticity of the profile having been brought into question.  Why not?  They’re new profiles, and they’re not verified.

4.  Since the “girl” has never signed on again, it can’t be a sexually confused and socially inept teenage boy who wants to read pervy e-mails from punters.

What do others make of this?  And is this curious pattern confined to South Hampshire?

Interesting. Somebody experimenting with all sorts of ages, description, services and prices? An agency trying to fly under the radar trying to look like a bunch of indies? A journo doing research to see who gets in touch? Just after AW got lots of mentions in the press in connection with the sex worker who got murdered in Scotland.

AW send me an email alerting me to "new" profiles that are similar to one that I like - in each case the WG has just set up a profile.  But no interview, rarely a front page pic, and a warning at the top to be suspicious of the profile, makes me wonder why AW sent me advice in the first place.  As Fagin pointed out, why does a new WG post a profile and never get back to it or even fill in the parts that would be of interest to punters.  :dash: :dash: :dash:

But, Hairy, in all those three cases, the creator of the profile would return to the profile to assess the response, read the e-mails, whatever.  No-one has ever returned to any of these profiles.

Look to me to have been set-up by a software writer/developer.

I've always assumed that those sort of profiles are either punters or spouses experimenting with seting up on AW as service providers in order to find out or see information about punters seeking services.
This might of course be totally incorrect of me but it's how my cynical and devious mind thinks.

But why are there so many of them over the same period, and in the same general location?  I've never seen this before.  And why (as I said before) is there no Adult Work legitimacy warning?

In any case, an "offering services" profile can only see profile information about the punters who e-mail it.  A girl can't search for punters in the way that we search for girls.  So punters and / or spouses will learn nothing by having an "offering services" profile – particularly if they never sign on to read their e-mails.

This is AW techies testing out something. They need profiles that they know won't disappear or alter.

A fact or conjecture?

Well there are two strong clues:

1. some nicknames with upper-case in the middle, this is a common programmer practice

2. a nickname with a dot, like a filename.extension

also I know that web-developers make fake accounts for testing.

Now THAT'S something you don't normally learn on a forum such as this! Thanks.  :drinks:
