I spoke to a prossie in MK once about just that, she was a big sci fi film geek, instead of shoes and handbags she used to blow all her cash on replica movie props. She tried to source a authentic gold slave girl costume from the states, it was stupid expensive if I remember correctly. Could have been a lot of fun getting her to handle my lightsaber.
