Its in Morocco surprise surprise so GI can swan around being treated like a G7 president prime minister

It might be a plan for him to stay there for a while
He could be arrested / at least taken in for questioning if he heads to Switzerland FIFA HO located there
Morocco supporting GI they want the final in 2030 its been promised to them

The optics for the WC aren't good with Morocco co hosting
The spanish border 50,000+ migrants trying to get into spanish territory
Morocco pleased to see them go helping them on their way get shot of them  :yahoo:     wait a minute ..... most of them came back  :dash:

seems to sum up  the failed scheme  nicely

"In truth, it was a vehicle for Infantino and that small circle to acquire a permanent stake in and otherwise profit from Fifa's most valuable assets to the detriment of Fifa, its members, and other parties within the football family," Uefa's application says.

Nicely indeed
Further commentary
The application adds: "Under the terms Infantino announced, those investors stood to acquire a permanent financial interest in Fifa's commercial arm for $4.2bn, implying an absurdly low enterprise value of only approximately $20bn, a figure that was neither the product of an open, competitive auction, nor tested by any independent valuer."

I reck GI & his inner circle of FIFA cronies were working on the principle that selling stealing just 20% would slip below the radar & get the approval / vote from however many member countries needed to pass it

Votes being harvested by offering bribes £20-30m which is big money to some of the smaller football nations e.g. Cape Verde
GI & his mates knowing that those in charge of football in the various countries would be siphoning off as much as possible for personal benefit
FIFA have strong support from Africa which everyone knows has corruption embedded there
£20-30m to the English FA is a drop in the ocean, they get £10m+ everytime there's a match @ Wembley

What GI & the new 20% owners then do is let the dust settle & then sell on at / towards the true market value
You could turn £4bn into 5x that or whatever the multiple is
You can guarantee that GI will have a personal stake even if only 5% this is £200m [on £4bn]
1% is £40m
Multiply £40m - £200m by 5 & the figures are eye watering
The documentation put together on the sale theft will detail the arrangements which is why UEFA want to see this

"Uefa and other interested parties are preparing to bring criminal claims in Switzerland against Infantino and possibly other Fifa officials and advisors for criminal mismanagement," the application states"

This a clever approach
Pick someone / some people lower down the food chain & give them a couple of options: 1/ prosecution or 2/ they give evidence blow the whistle as a plea bargain
Me thinks when those involved heard of UEFA proceedings this will have induced an enormous shit  *

* edit - like when a UKPer thinks he's been caught out by his OH indulging on our fave sport a blood draining feeling  :scare:

It's been alleged that GI guaranteed getting the requiste number of votes by directing "development funds" to the relevant Countries, most of which are in the African Confederation which has the biggest number of Football Associations. FIFA concentrated too much power in the hands of one person.
