There are posts on this daily.

You pay Sergei, because you don't want his boys coming around. Then you pay him again when he calls the following week.

Or you wind him up, just because.

Online chuck_88

Laughed at them, told them to fuck off and hung up.

Just block their number, it’s a scam

There are more that are newer than that. I'm pretty sure there was one yesterday or the day before.

EDIT:

Here you go:

You tell him to pay you double or you'll report his girls to the Police and the National Crime Agency. Then when you've had your fun with the prick just block the number.

Did you ignore the message haha

I had it similar a while back, first the berk sent a text saying “hello” then when I asked “who is this” the phone started ringing and I didn’t answer then got what clearly scripted text saying I wasted time bla bla bla or I’m coming to your house, had f-all credit on that sim anyway, so just changed sim, got another for a quid and moved on.

Threats to your punting number  highlight why it’s 100% sensible to use a dedicated, throwaway number for that purpose. And you should never use the same number for social media accounts, online registrations or other services.

Realistically, though, this is probably just a chancer trying to scare people. Most of the time it’s little more than scaremongering designed to see who they can extort money from, the dickheads are probably ultra rarely successful.

Someone on here paid quite a lot of money to one of these scammers.

I had one a while back saying same things,we know who you are and where you live,so sent them a text back asking them where to meet and sent them a stock photo of a group of males in balaclavas and base ball bats and said I’m brining my boys with me lol, strangely never got a reply back so blocked them.

That's the only thing to do.

Then live as a monk.

Yep, and even then you need to be alert, these Romanian/Albanian pimps are no joke. They have been the dominating force in London and the rest of the UK since the Kray twins.

Basically the OP is fucked

There are phone calls and texts. Try to stick with the advice of just because it rang doesn't mean you need to answer. As with previous posts I'd encourage you to drop the sim and get a new number every couple of months, these cant hurt you if you can't see or hear them. Certainly don't tie your number to any social media. My case was rather disappointing as I only contact providers if I am sure and only on several occasions has a message not lead to a meet strictly on the basis of diary alignment. Nothing to sweat, ignore it, fuck with them if you're up for it.

edit: also worth adding that when I got that message and saw all the missed calls I took absolutely no seriousness or threat from it as it was three weeks earlier when they attempted to do this.

I’m actually quite sorry to hear that to be honest, but I guess if someone was new to punting and did not know about this sort of bottomless threat, it could be scary enough to make them cough up cash to these morons.

Yep, remember that thread.

Family man not using a punting phone. The scammer frightened him and he handed over a sum, which I think was over a grand.

You are always going to get some punters who have a lot to lose, but are not using a punting phone, and/or have the same number listed on social media accounts and goodness knows where else.

And, some have indeed been wasting the time of SPs:  "The wife was staying at her mother's for a few days, so I fired off a few texts to some SPs"...clearly wanting to engage in some back and forth. And in the process reveal too much personal info.

Throw in some naivety, and Sergei will have another victim.
