Several passengers were shown to be kicking a man against the carriage door after he exposed his genitals and buttocks and repeatedly refused to pull up his trousers.

Onlookers could be seen moving out of the way as the fight broke out during the eastbound journey between Upton Park and East Ham Last Thursday at around 3.30pm.

That I can't see why they cant just alerted the train driver by pulling down a security flap thing that they have on trains.

While it is not nice for people going about their day to see a naked man in public, its worse to use violence against what appears to be a man with clearly in a bad mental health state.

The man has now been contained under the mental health act.

They would not act out this way on a female if she did the same thing this guy did.

I am hoping the man gets the help he so clearly needs, this was not done in a sexual manner  and so he needs medical help which I hope he gets.

The men that threw some punches and kicks should be held accountable, their excuse cannot be they were protecting other passengers as there don't seem to be any threats or abuse coming from the man.  :unknown:

I once saw a stunning brunette woman in a black seethrough robe/dress so you could see everything at Waterloo underground station in the middle of evening rush hour.  100s/1000s of people happily walked by her as a man seemed to be photographing her.  I had a train to catch so couldn't hang around.

Pulling the emergency stop will disrupt services for a prolonged period, so not really a great solution. What do you think the driver would do?  You’d just have a train stuck between stations and not able to get the BTP involved.

I’ve seen the video, you’re also making (mental health) excuses for the guy based on no real information.  It was a case of fuck around and find out. If our society continues to deteriorate and policing continues to be non-existent then you’re going to see a lot more “frontier justice”.

A woman doing this would not have been seen as a threat and would have been more easily restrained and covered up.

Underground train drivers are trained to continue to the next Station if the Emergency Button is activated so that passengers can be evacuated or Police attend an incident.

BTP is a very small force with only 3,600 Officers and PCSOs to cover the entire Country, which is why you rarely see them.

A few years ago when I frequented Peckham on occasions (Don’t ask)

There used to be this black woman who walked around the main high street wearing (usually) a black leotard kind of thing. But always with brightly (gaudy) coloured bra and panties over the top…. High heels or knee length boots sometimes.
She certainly got plenty of looks and car horns going off, Wolf whistles etc. 🤷🏼

He might have been about to have a shit as that's becoming more common place nowadays from people that are used to doing it anywhere in their own country ,so think it's ok to do the same here. They are having to  put signs up in London to encourage people that it's not appropriate behavior.

Have you seen women out on the town - not seen as a threat and more easily restrained is not an opinion I would share!!

Nor I

but if every incident like this was the start of  a new thread we would be inundated with incidents that must happen every day

Filming of Spiderman in Glasgow, a male exposed himself to a bunch of kids who were watching the filming.  Loads of security around the filming, but seems the perp, got away, and police are now making enquiries into this

I am not one to usually defend PK but the fact that the man was detained under the mental health act is perhaps real information upon which to play the mental health excuse.

Just where are these signs?  I'm yet to see one as someone who lives and works in London.  Also on the topic of proper things to do in this country, it's spelt behaviour in British English.

Well i had a relative who was mentally ill and its a real sod sometimes getting them the help they need, very awkward situation sometimes. More that the once the police were involved and just as well as no other agency were any help. Mental illness is still very poorley understood . Anyone with a visably broken leg not problem withthet usally a lot of sympathy. Depression?, "Pull your self together!"

In the end she did away with herself a really nice person too!..

I am irritated beyond logic by the way American English has invaded this country, particularly by the use of the word ass instead of arse. An ass is a donkey, although when I was young  arse could also mean a fool. Arse was once accepted in the USA for what you sit on, but that country is the home of mealy-mouthed hypocrisy.

Eating ass sounds better than eating arse though.
Pretty much the only time to use an Americanism.

The sidewalk is also better than Pavement. It is just seems to be a more accurate description in my eyes   :)

Footway would be the technically correct term used in legislation and official documents in the UK.

I guess pavement is a description of the actual physical path and footway the purpose of it, for want off a better word?
