This site is an absolute fucking nightmare, I also think 95% are tgtbt or fake but a little intell for you.

Background.... I only advertise in 2 places EscortingHub and AW I don't display my working number unless I'm green light on AW or I'm on tour as I'm very much part time, however it is embedded in the unseen bit on AW so I can tick the display number box when I want to, there are also settings on AW that we can tick to prevent profile sharing with other sites and its supposed to also prevent harvesting of profiles.

So 3 weeks ago (no number displayed) I start getting random calls to my work phone and random WhatsApp messages, asking if I'm available now in Llanelli (I'm Llandeilo) and asking my prices and what services do I offer (my profileis really clear imo) initially I assumed they were guys who had seen my number up a couple of weeks prior and saved it.

By the 4th one I'm scratching my head and trying to work out wtf is going on so I asked the guy where he had seen my number,  he said on my advert, so I went to check AW, no number displayed,  so I asked where he had seen the advert and he said Simple escorts and sent me a link to it via WhatsApp.

Sure enough there was my information,  all jumbled up, making no sense as it talks about contacting me via pm etc, no prices or working hours but my number was on there with a direct dial link or WhatsApp message option, I'm not going to lie I lost my shit a little, if I want to advertise somewhere I will, I do not appreciate some twat stealing my information and making a dogs bloody dinner of it in the process.

I had to make an account and then I reported the profile, I also emailed their support team and told them in very very clear language to get my details off their shitty site or I would take legal action against them, it was gone in just under 2 hours, there are a lot of girls who have had the same issues and there is a long running thread on saafe regarding content thieves that this site is mentioned on several times and regularly.

They are scamming content thieves who can't even get the basics right.

So if that is hidden from public view the only way they can get that is in collaboration with AW or by paying AW for profiles to put on their site, which means the content sharing option that we can opt out off on AW and which I have indeed opted out of is utter bollocks,  somehow I'm not surprised

Funny enough, I was having a conversation with someone who was looking to book this morning. Everything seemed fine until they stated they didn't know what adultwork was. Which of course made me sus as I only really advertise on adultwork or EH. Well after some digging, he'd found a profile of me on simple escorts, which was not only a copy of my adultwork but was also based in....... CANARY WHARF
Profile reported and within minutes received a email stating they've removed it

I'm fairly certain they're scraping the data unofficially from the AW site.
Looks to me that they have a way of only scraping the data if a phone number is showing, and then once loaded up not subsequently updating it if the number is deleted or location changed.
It looks to that AW are running the opt-out on your account as a Google search doesn't bring you up on any of their associate sites, normally it would.

You are possibly right scutty, I've had an email on aw today from someone who reads the forum but is not a member, it's an essay to say the least and must have taken a considerable amount of time to type out, in it he kindly mansplains how the Internet and data collection works etc and how AW are doing the correct thing regards my number storage etc as he has some way of checking.
Tbh I lost the will to live a bit reading the message and haven't logged on to reply, I'm not at all ungrateful, I appreciate it.

The thing for me on this case is a few fold...
I don't trust AW as far as I can throw them, if they can sell something and make a profit they will, even if what they are selling is technically not something they would appear to benefit from selling.
I had not had my number displayed on AW for over a month prior to this happening
If they had scraped the data a month prior then why did I only start getting calls that weekend and when I asked the guys they said it was new on site.
I've never advertised as being in Llanelli and don't have that town mentioned anywhere on my profile
They were super quick to remove it and clean it from all searches

It is what it is, we just have to be extra vigilant and make a point of searching for ourselves weekly, because if we keep complaining and having our data removed at some point they will hopefully give up and stich to the pimp ad's

Could it be simpler without any subterfuge?

If I see a Profile that interests me,  I can add it to my Hot List.

Once in the Hot List, I can add notes, so I add any details of interest including phone number if displayed.

If the Profile removes the number, I still have the number to reference.

Maybe other directory sites 'screen shot' and capture images when a number is displayed for later use?
