Hi All, having had quite a break from any activity I thought I'd dip my toes now the sun has come out.

Tried booking this:

External Link/Members Only

They replied saying they would like a deposit, which I've never done before, but I can see from a WG point of view why you would ask this. so I sent over £40 to their account.

10min past the booked time, I get another message saying to transfer the rest over for fear of cash being robbed. Much back and forth I was an utter idiot and gave in to send it over. It failed to transfer, showing as a credit in my account. Tried again, and again I got a credit. Wouldn't answer the phone, and I'm already convinced I've been a proper idiot. Finally got it sent to a different account, and sent a screen shot of the proof of transfer, and they claim it's been stopped their end with a credit coming in 24hrs, they asked can I just try one more time... Obviously I didn't, but have been scammed out of £120. Don't be a bell end like me.... STAY AWAY.

Sorry to hear that. BUT mate you must be extremely naive to fall into that trap 🪤.

Don't worry mate, just transfer £500 to my account, and I know a Nigerian prince who can sort this whole mess out for you.

Transfer the rest over for fear of cash being robbed...  Not sure what this means but I guess this is a lesson learned!

I posted this in the hope others that may be as foolish as me, don’t get caught up in it. I’ve Never used services of anything more than a massage before, so yes I was naive, I never suggested anything less.

Would people prefer I kept quiet and didn’t say a thing and potentially let others make the same mistake?

So thanks for all the really useful comments highlighting what I’d already admitted was an extremely foolish thing.

Don't take it personally bud, I do feel sorry for ya, nobody deserves to be scammed like that. But you've gotta expect a bit of friendly ribbing after admitting to something that dumb. "Never pay a deposit" is the first rule of punting, and it's plastered all over the forum.

All you can do is learn from experience, and move on. Oh and take MKHelen's advice, who at least posted something a bit more constructive than the rest of us cynical bastards.

It’s an forum formed of opinionated people. You’re gonna get people weighing in positive and negative comments, it’s just how it is.

On this occasion there’s not much positives to tell you, that’s simply it.
