Multiple reviews in one go?

Hi all,

First time poster. I've been punting for about 5 years now, started just before covid hit.

I've probably met upwards of 25+ SP's and wondered if I'm allowed to review them all in a short space of time?

I'm not going to rack my brains and think back years, I've seen around 8 this year and was unsure if I'm able to review them all today/tomorrow. They're all fresh in my mind still.

Or am I only able to review punts from now on? Don't want to cause any trouble on here so thought it's best to ask the question!

You can review any you've seen within the last 6 months and only one SP per review.

If you stick to some sort of basic structure for each one, you'll not go far wrong. For example:

There's still some grammar police on here who take great delight in picking fault with some reviews  (probably retired English teachers who  find old habits die hard )

Do you need to put a comma, if the word (in this case “reviews”) is immediately followed by an open bracket.

Correct Steve, absolutely no need for a comma after 'reviews' - but if only it had indeed been immediately followed by an open bracket. Unfortunately mr.bluesky had inserted a double space before the bracket, and in fact there were further spacing errors inside the brackets, and a shocking absence of a full stop. Must try harder.

This was my 500th post on UKP - to be honest, there's been better ones.

I have to admit. Being a Geordie, therefore English being a second language.
I think I am doing rather well, literally as well as orally. 😂

Pedantically the use of "there's" there is wrong as the correct form there should be "there have been" not "there has been", so the shortened form should really be "there've" though I agree you rarely find this written though it is more common in speech.

Scutty I cannot fault your grammar there mate, that's a magnificent spot and this is a pleasant distraction while we all wait for OP Joker to write up his next review from the backlog.

Next time: why it is NEVER ok to make something plural by adding an apostrophe before the letter s.

Because there the apostraphe besides indicating ownership also replaces  the second "s" so it should be written as " s' "
e.g.
single cow: "the cow's calves"
multiple cows: "the cows's calves" which is shortened to "the cows' calves"
As to why, blame medieval monks who were always looking for shortcuts and abbreviations when scribing documents.

Now there's another poser: why is the word "abbreviation" so long?
