Ferrari front row lockout for todays Mexico GP, didnt see that one coming ...

Hopefully they keep MV squeezed out into Turn 1 .. and maybe we will see a race for a change  :yahoo:

You would hope that will be the case but somehow you'll just know Ferrari will find a way to fuck things up with bad strategy or pit stop. The Dutch brat will surely win again.  :dash:

Probably wishful thinking. Sadly, I suspect Ferrari won't have the race pace to keep ahead of MV and that RB rocketship, not to mention their poor tire degradation.

He'll likely be in front by the first corner as it's a very long run to it, towed along by the Ferrari.

Not forgetting the team asking their drivers what strategy they should pursue
The drivers a tad busy keeping the car at the limit on the track with their only view of the world being thru a letter box

Well in the event it was the RBs doing the squeezing. Checo stuffed it up 100% at his home race and has weakened his claim to an F1 seat even further. Verstappen got off without damage, leaving Leclerc trailing behind with messed up aero. Hamilton came through as the best of the rest.

Can't believe Perez said he was proud that he went for it. Hilarious idiocy.

Have to think that Perez's place in the team is under threat from Ricciardo especially after his performance in Mexico but Perez is no threat to the Dutch brat so they will probably keep him.  :unknown:

Its a balancing act for RB
MV doesnt want any real competition
Yet if the other manufacturers close the gap next season it could put them under pressure on the constructors title
RB needing a no.2 driver to perform & get some points in
For next season:  Perez = Heads / Ricciardo = Tails
One thing working against Ricciardo is that he is very popular, with fans the media & other drivers
I can see Sky F1 gravitating towards him if he were at RB next season
Ricciardo makes for much better interviews etc & is fun with it, making MV look out of place

He's hilarious with some of the stuff he comes out with
He's got a bit of an ocker style about him
Mostly supressed it creeps out in a cultivated way just now & again

What i find amusing is that whatever LH [Sir] says in post race interviews [LH is sincere & believable] MV copies several weeks later
MV is contrived & not very believable
MV bolloxes on about team stuff
& then mentions Perez in the same sentence, like the two of em are best mates

And that overtake by Hamilton - balls out!

Indeed, & Brundle put it: 'the late of the late breakers'

With MV out front he didn't get much coverage
Other than now & again, thats a shame
The focus was further down the field on the various battles going on

As an aside i've just found out that the greedy fuckers at the FIA charge the driver a 'super licence fee' for them to drive
External Link/Members Only
"Specifically, each driver will pay a base fee – in euros – of €10,400, plus €2,100 per point scored during the 2022 season, for the chance to race in 2023"
Well i never
MV to race in 2023 had to pay close to €1m based on his 2022 points haul [454], so even more for 2024
I'm reckoning the FIA still havent refunded tickets for a rained out Spa
[well apart from 3 laps behind the safety car, just so they could give MV half points]

Brazil next up
In 2021 IMO one of LH's best ever races
External Link/Members Only
MV trying to push LH off track so much he even went off the track himself
LH too smart & avoids him, same when MV swerving all over the track
'Just racing' as the ginger whinger told the FIA what their response should be
The FIA taking it up the arse for RB whilst noshing MV & the ginger whinger
Anyways 'back on track' LH started last & finished first  :yahoo:

If he's in a RB there it's the biggest chance that he'll have of being at the front
And he isnt going to dislodge any of the drivers at Mercedes or McLaren
Not sure what's going on @ Ferrari, not sure they know themselves

& then there's the money, as you reference
RB have deep pockets

I'm pretty sure that it crossed the ginger whingers mind that bowling ball perez could have potentially pushed Leclerc's car into MV had the dominos fallen differently
MV right of the grid round a right hander its unlikely
In a different race who knows MV doesnt need a loose cannon in the [current] next fastest car

MV & Ricciardo are relatively good mates
I would have thought that Ricciardo would make better choices, but there we are  ;)
MV will never forget Perez upping the revs & spinning out in Monaco bringing Q3 to a halt [with Perez in P1]  :yahoo:
It's the type of thing that MV isn't yet clever enuf to think of, give him time ...
The problem for Ricciardo is that if they give him the right car set up he might just go a bit too fast for MVs liking

Mercedes & McLaren are getting closer & who knows what the off season developing the 2024 car will bring
Aston were showing some promise however the wheels have sort of come orf
& one of the drivers running to daddy doesnt help things
Next year RB wont be able to rely on MV winning the constructors for them pretty much on his own
It will be ace if Ricciardo is in a RB in 2024 🤞🤞

Ironically Perez's move round the outside could have taken out both LeClerc and Max leaving it to the McLarens and the Mercs to fight it out for 1st - that would have been fun! He crashed a lot when he was in a McLaren with Jensen Button and hasn't really got any better at racecraft, he just points the car and hope it works out.

Where else should Ric aim to get a competitive seat for 2024+? It's not just the only viable option for him, it is currently the best car, so why wouldn't he want to be there, even as 'second fiddle'? He may even prove that it has been the the car not the driver that has won MV championships. And that may be exactly why MV vetoes it, he doesn't want a competitor in the team.

Not sure he will have the power to veto it
He's hardly gonna join another team
Few of the teams can afford him
& he'll only ever want to be in the fastest car

Its Karen who calls the shots & he's not gonna want any driver thinking they're more in control than he is
He's gonna know pretty much MV winning is down to the car & how much to the driver

We havent seen it this year however MV gets easily rattled
Telling the team not to speak to him when he's braking
& he had some tantrum a few races ago [cant recall which one / why] when he should be breezing over whatever it is

The latest rumour is a driver swap Perez & Alonso
Not sure who is more of a threat to MV between Ricciardo & Alonso ?

Online mr.bluesky

It would be good to see Alonso in a Red Bull. Turned in some great performances and results for Aston Martin early season but they have lost their way a bit recently. Still has the motivation despite being the senior driver on the grid now.

So MV ended up winning 19 of the 22 races this season, winning this final race by circa 17 seconds having not brought any upgrades to the car since August .. 2024 may be more of the same on this showing  :scare:

He won by 17 seconds and they had a strategy that meant he led the race by more laps so that he becomes the 1st driver to lead a season by over 1000 laps, apparently this strategy wasn't deemed to be the fastest so it shows just how far ahead they are.

I've largely given up watching it this season and don't always even bother checking the quali and race results, hopefully next season will be closer but there's still a massive gap to make up

MV can go faster if he needs to
This does risk something going wrong like damage hitting a kerb too hard [puncture or suspension damage]
If MV gets a times penalty he doesn't need to push, he just bides his time rather than getting tangled up with another driver

Perez has shown his limitations
Never very good in quali
It takes him the whole race in the [2nd] fastest car to get up towards the front
MV can win the constructors on his own so i expect Perez to be alongside him next season
Perez adds points to make it a dead cert
The last thing MV wants is any competition
Things only went astray a couple of times for MV & it didnt take long for his cuntish nature to surface
Him singing Viva La Vegas  he was moaning about being up at 4am in the morning a couple of days prior
[a top effort by LeClerc getting P2 overtaking Perez on the last lap ]

The only benefit on the race coverage today was that MV hardly got a look in
Focus on the battles from 2nd & back through the field

Indeed more of the same in 2024

Interest is waning
I've been to Silverstone the last few years
Usually all but sold out by end of Sept
Lots of tickets still available
I've received numerous emails offering discounted hospitality packages
CBA & NFI wedging up increasing amounts of ££ for an increasingly average 'product'

This season must go down as the most boring season in F1 history due to the dominance of the Red Bull car. For a lot of the races I would watch the first few laps then once the Dutch brat hit the front I would turn the chanel over or off then just rejoin the race for the final few laps. If next season follows the same pattern then the casual F1 fan like myself will be switching off in their thousands. I hope Mercedes get their act together next year and gives Hamilton a car that can challenge the Red Bull or any other of the teams like Ferrari,  Mclaren, or Aston Martin can take the fight to Red Bull. However I fear next season will pretty much be the same as this season  :dash:

Yes it was quoted that given RB were so clearly ahead they didn't bring any developments since about July meaning they could concentrate on developing next years car so another advantage and all of this from the overspend a few seasons ago, who says cheats don't prosper

It's a great car so credit to them for that and Max is I think a good driver but it's easy to be good in an outstanding car when you basically aren't being challenged though Perez still seems to manage to flop  :D
Given equal equipment it would be good to see how Max faired against other top drivers like Lewis or IMO Lando plus a few others  :unknown:

I never had an issue with RB or with Max despite him having the charisma of a wet lettuce however all the cheating leaves a sour taste so it's now become a case of anyone but RB  :drinks:

When this pops up I do have problems believing it.

Simply because it's not in the 'Team's' interest IMO.

Winning the Driver's Championship brings much publicity and kudo to both the Team and Driver, but no direct money to the Team.

Winning the Constructor's Championship brings cash, lots of it, to the Team.

Now this year has been exceptional but normally it needs both Drivers to bring home good points consistantly to be victorious.  So why would a Team give one driver a car not as good, they immediately shoot themselves in the foot by both disadvantaging the performance for one driver and their confidence.  I do agree that in the case of only one upgrade being available it will go to the Number One driver.

Generally I'd agree, but I suspect RB realised early on they'd win both championships at a canter. Historically, when a car has been so dominant the two drivers have slugged it out between them leaving everyone else a long way behind. Not so this season. SP has made his car look very ordinary at times and with the exception of Singapore, MV has looked a mile in front of everyone else. Enough to raise suspicion for me that the playing field isn't level. CH would have quickly spotted the opportunity to create a bit of history and demonstrate just how brilliant MV is - the GOAT no less.

As ever, if sommat don't feel right, it generally isn't.

The question is does he go back to RB if offered a seat ?
Me thinks he will
More ££, more rewarding as a driver & its a whole lot easier driving towards the front in the fastest car [ooop ... 2nd fastest]
He was RB's 3rd driver before being given the seat @ Alpha Tauri, so he's already on the RB payroll

Perez somehow managed to finish 2nd at the weekend giving him some much needed brownie points
