I'm not often in this part of London, but business takes me to many strange and wonderful locations and so I found myself in the London Borough of Havering's Romford. I had a spare couple of hours between calls and decided to look for a little fun. This place is pretty well reviewed and easy to find in a sad and neglected part of town. I easily parked in a nearby surface level carpark and it's worth sharing, I've never seen so many badly parked cars in my life - lots of cars parked diagonally across a space and a half or even two spaces. Also, the grander the car, the poorer the parking. I was not impressed!
On to Velvet Spa - on entering you are greeted by a man sitting behind a sort of booth. You tell him what you want, hand over the dosh - in this case £45 for a one hour massage - and then he uses a key pad to unlock the inner door and you to enter the inner sanctum, help yourself to a towel from a rack and proceed to one of several rooms. The rooms are good sized, fitted with a massage table, sink and shower. Much better than many I've been in in recent months. Soon I was joined by an eastern European lady called Maya which surprised me - I was assuming a Chinese or Thai lady. Maya is charming and fun with perfectly adequate English. She's not a great looker but goes in and out in all the right places and has a wonderful pair of knockers. She proceeded to give me an excellent and thorough massage. We then moved on to discussion of desserts and a menu of £20-40-60 was offered. Feeling a little flush (business is good at the moment) I opted for the top choice which was delivered absolutely delightfully.
The shower was excellent, the towel fresh and Maya was attentive to me as I dressed. I enjoyed my hour and may well return, probably to explore other options.
Not impressed with Romford itself and particularly not the drivers, but thought this place was a cut above the rest.
