What's the reason for that? Sounds counter-productive as the number might pop up a week or two later on another profile and would be a useful indication of the new profile potentially being dodgy.

I'm not disagreeing, as that's fact, but it sure stinks of scam - what honest reason can a SP have for not telling you a deposit is required until you get to the (alleged) location? I can't think of one. At best it's misleading, at worst a scam. Thanks for the warning, OP.
