Really? They are in the middle of their 'biggest' covid wave. Our healthcare is falling to bits. Sounds like a no-brainer to ban them or at least require special testing.

After saying let them in, it's now 'under review'. Until when? Until there's a massive wave of infections in the U.K.? (like deja vu).  :dash:

Completely agree with everything you say as I thought exactly the same.

It worryingly feels like the very start when covid first emerged with the whole "no reason to panic" "everything will be fine" except this time we should know better and follow other countries in terms of testing/restrictions upon arrival. Personal opinion, the Chinese can't be trusted in terms of sharing information related to covid, that coupled with no restrictions when they have such high case rates is a recipe for disaster (yet again).

The latest was “there is no epidemiological reason” for testing them. Which basically means “the Chinese haven’t told us about any new variants”. And of course, we trust the Chinese on that don’t we?  :dash:

Strangely, several major Western countries have put their own nation’s concerns first, before fancy justifications using 8-syllable words. The decision is “under review” yet common sense might have suggested pull up the drawbridge while the review is conducted, not wait for more fatalities to supply further ‘epidemiological evidence.’

China has nothing to do with Europe, UK airports have nothing to do with Europe and Covid threads get a 7 day ban, even when they are hidden in punting abroad.

I did wonder though if recent developments would have knock on effects for TCM recruitment. Several of us have heard from shop owners the consequences of Chinese government policy on movements.

What has this got to do with Europe. This thread is a covert way of discussing Covid, started by a member who now has a 7 day break.

China is not in Europe, the UK is only in Europe geographically and neither have anything to do with punting in Europe.

Not at all, I thought it was just in the wrong section.

I agree on the need for no new COVID threads but policies in this one specific country have impacted the sex trade in the UK.

Marmalade's been around long enough to know where to post things. If this is a political matter it should be in the politics thread, if it's about Covid then the Covid thread.

This is just one boundary push too far.
