So I’m heading to the well spoken land called Thailand, I’m deciding between Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket. Where would you suggest is best to go for a mix of punting and sight seeing.

Pattaya will most likely be a solo trip.

Some lads will be joining me maybe 4-5 days later, so which area would be good as a group too? - we are looking to party and chill on beaches.  (Bangkok vs Phuket ?)

Bangkok is good for sight seeing. I am still finding new and interesting places to see in Bangkok. Hua Hin is the only beach nearby. Phuket will be good for chilling and beach hopping. Both places are excellent for the parties, punting, clubs and bars.

Id say Bangkok while has the 3 main areas to go to - I feel it’s less better then Phuket where you will get a better girl …

I was in Bangkok in July and went to the Crazy House and made some nice friends with the girls .. Anna & Choc ..

But that’s as far as I got

And DO NOT BUT ANYTHING from the vender o the corner of the street by the crazy house !!! DONT!

And there is some great pizza on the right side of the Crazy House which an American runs .. small street stall

Pattaya on your own then Phuket with the lads.  Loads to see and do in Phuket, world class beaches and nightlife plus other stuff like water parks, or day trips to Phi Phi etc.   There are no beaches in Bangkok btw.

All 3 have girls galore and seriously good nightlife and plenty to do but they are all very different.

Bangkok solo then definitely phuket(patong) with friends.

I am writing this from Pattaya  having spent a few days in Bangkok first!
This is my third time in Thailand this year! Being the capital, you have to do Bangkok for a few days! But I noticed an increase in prices this time over April and January- most ladies weee aski2500 or 3000 for ST as a starting price instead of 2000 back in April and January.

Pattaya is def cheaper - most 2000 and a number at 1500 (ask/starting price)

Maybe we all have different views but for me , Patong has the best balance of tourism, beaches , night life and girls!

3/4 days Bangkok obligatory, then either Pattaya if it’s a full on shagging holiday or Patong if you want more of an all round holiday with stuff to do plus some shagging.

Personally I think BKK is shite for sightseeing. Nightlife it is OK, but during the day, big, busy, dirty and nothing really to do or see

Each to their own, I think the sightseeing is pretty decent for a couple of days at least. Often new stuff to see every time go as well. I accept it’s pretty marmite place on the whole though.

I hated Bangkok when I first went but over the years has grown on me. Always have 3-4 days there now on my trips.

Yes, Bangkok has a lot of noisy traffic compared to the shires back home. But if you are from London, it's not as bad as London. Here the roads are long and straight. So the traffic moves faster than in London. Also, crazy Thai drivers and bikers helps keep traffic moving  :D

But then, most places that you would want to go to can be reached by the underground or by the Sky train (overland trains) or by river buses. If we are just talking about punting,  Nana Plaza, Sukhumvit 11 and Soi Cowboy are all in the same walkable area.

If you want to visit Bangkok, don't let the traffic stories put you off.

Pattaya is convenient to get to from Bangkok. But, apart from punting, there isnt much else there. The place is full of old white guys walking around with young Thai girls . Then there are the bars, massage parlours. And that is about.  If you are hoping for a bit of civvy action, forget it. Phuket is the place for that. Mainly because Phuket has other things to do apart from punting and the beaches are a lot better.

Phuket appear to be full of Russian guys with hot Russian GFs. And parties of young Western backpackers. A very different vibe compared to Pattaya

Offline heisenberg.

for women, the hottest are in bangkok.

for beaches and women go to phuket

if you want cheap sex with a variety of women (ranging from medium hot - ugly) then go to pattaya.

Why don’t you spread your time between all 3. I would say keep your plans fluid so you can chop and change as you want. Flights to Phuket from Bangkok (dmk or bkk) can be as cheap as £22.

I would say though having been to bk and Pattaya there are more sightseeing to do t
In bk than pat but I’m in pataya right now and the sheer volume and options is insane to the point overwhelming. I would advise you getting on ThaiFriendly if you don’t fancy bar pick ups or street ones.

Additionally, I found that in bk I was approached more reluctantly than here in pataya. I am not white but of south Asian origin but being white definitely has advantages here just because of preferences (just my observation not trying to be racist). Once they realised I have an English accent though the demeanour changes.

The old white man stereo type is a bit changed now. The Thai gov are allowing India citizens to visit visa free and I see a lot of Indian tourists out here. Not even punters just tourist. The Indian punters tend to go at the back of walking street (heading in towards beach road) where there seems to be a Bollywood takeover. I went for a walk there and got approached so many times to go into clubs blazing Bollywood songs. Some did look good.  They added more sand to the beach which I saw wash off yesterday as it rained hard this morning 😂😂

Indians still need visa on arrival.

Offline Swapmeister

From what I have observed, Indian guys tend to be short timers.  I'm with them in that I don't want to pay a WG to be my GF for the day or week. So yeah, while Indians are out there punting, you wont see many with 'girlfriends'.

Yea my friend said this about not being given attention until they hear him speak. It's easy to tell difference between south asians from Asia and those south asians that grew up elsewhere, but I guess if you're not familiar then you might not know the difference just by looking.
