I wouldn't be too harsh. LSS has disappeared. NTS/BSS are still in full swing even if the waiting rooms aren't crowded. BSS has maybe (IMO) suffered from over-exposure (Willie may disagree). It's close enough to Waverley to grab visitor business and non-returners in any line don't need to be pleased so much. Another thing with the saunas, at least for those who rely on them as a staple, is that it is practically impossible not to be identifiable to some extent via reviews, and also there's an understandable reluctance not to "bite the hand that feeds". On occasional visits, the quality at BSS has disappointed. One fairly recent one, Carla, was very average looks, a hard worker, but clearly reminiscent of the old Glasgow Blythwood girls (ie a bit rough) and accused of trying to overcharge in the room. Some of the availables, at NTS and BSS, greet the visitor with a glassy stare – a typical 'Rom' look... yet Bianca, originally Romanian but thoroughly naturalised and very presentable, responsive and conversational, offers an excellent GFE and hard to fault. Similarly Madagascan Inora, both NTS. Most will be aware of the new(ish) management, which would be hard to fault: one can only imagine that the supply chain isn't the best. If there's a ratio of 1 to 2 (good vs less than average) then the good ones are naturally inclined to distinguish themselves by going onto AW, or, as is frequently the case, get booked solid after good reviews, and which then might also encourage them to take their followers onto online bookings. If there's only three or four on at any particular time, especially off-peak, the personable ones will stand out a mile and get taken if not already booked. In "rewarding" good service we are often chasing something ephemeral. New starts are often gems but might not be, so we need (IMO) revive the art of face-to-face evaluation. Over-reliance on internet bookings can make us lazy!
