I apologise. I shouldn't have said "Well done. You noticed something I didn't." That sounded a bit snide. But in my defence I reacted to your opening comment in the post, which also sounded a bit snide to me. So does this one:
There's far too many people on here who pass comments on something they know nothing about and state as fact something that is simply not true so I tend to look into things so I can make an accurate comment.
You think cash is going to disappear, I don't so we'll leave it there.
So, to recap, your comment here:
As long as kids buy sweets there'll be cash.
^^^ Is that a fact or an opinion?
In response I demonstrated that kids don't need to use cash anymore. Effectively debit cards are now available to kids. They are no longer only available to the over 16's and they are being used by millions in the UK. That is a fact.
It is my opinion that cash will gradually disappear. I can't know for certain, but it looks increasingly likely. I have presented facts to support that. There are alot more facts I can continue to present.
I can also think of factual reasons why cash won't disappear. Or why it could take a lot longer than I have suggested. So far in this thread you haven't present those fact. As far as I can see you have just presented your own opinions.
I thought this off-topic section of the forum was a place to discuss and debate these ideas?
I am happy to leave it here. Agree to disagree. But that does just shut down the discussion and no one learns anything.
