No, not really. Not sure what "reason" is in a punting context. Just that I'll pay whatever it takes to get exactly what I want. If I paid £80 and was disappointed, I'd be gutted. If I paid £1k and had a great time then it's all good for me.

To be fair, that's a good point. I have had some exacting requirements (that have been met) for certain punts and while it's always cost me (relatively) big dollars - I have begruded it less than a failed cheapo punt.

Whilst I can afford it, out of principle I will cease punting due to ridiculous price increases. Blows my mind how two hours on your back is equivalent to a day shift for an advanced tradesmans day rate before tax! Some truly shite SPs robbing folk.

I think theres a huge financial crash brewing back emd of this year or start of next, SPs will be in their thousands and rates per hour will crash due to competition.

I used to think that aswell until I realised and was told first hand of the mental stress they go through. The money is not worth it. It's not consistent either, factor in burn out etc...lifetime earnings for most is probs less than the average job. No pension, benefits either.

Also, when C19 happened the rates just increased and we all thought the rates would crash. There was a lockdown with no one going around and prices still went up anyway and quality got worse. Why would a financial crash change anything? I mean, hypothetically you would expect it would however, the impact of C19 should have caused a crash if the gov did not step in and look where we are now....inflated prices. High prices are the new norm unfortunately for now.

Don't underestimate what govs are prepared to do to save the markets. We've already seen what they did with C19. I doubt it will happen what you are predicting, although I fully understand where you are coming from.

I've paid £160 for an hour but it's too much.

£120 is entry-level - you can get a decent hour's session with an amiable, organised, pre-menopause British lady with a decent body for that, but not a real stunner.

The old, fat women asking for £150+ make me worry for the future of this pastime - people are clearly booking them, but I'm not going to.

£150 but I'm stuck in the past. I think I paid £120 back in 2006 but it may be that my memory fails me and it have been £150 even back then.

At the moment I am considering paying £120 for 30 mins. How times have changed in London.

Which is better than paying a Rom £100 - £120 only to find out everything else is extra
