I've been suffering with this for the last 9 months and wondered if anyone else has had the misfortune. I've had various hospital  tests - flexible cystoscopy, MRI, ultrasound etc. and all have come back negative. On one hand that's a relief, but being told it will probably clear up in time isn't a huge comfort and has put paid to any sex other than a massage with HE which wasn't very happy for either of us. I've read a couple of posts where fellow punters have had short term problems but wondered if anyone else has had ongoing issues. If so I'd be interested to know what if anything helped. FWIW, I'm not currently on any meds although did take anti hypertension meds for a while due to raised BP.

I had this very recently and it was an awful shock.

Had to make a very embarrassing visit to our family doctor & denied any sexual activity when asked (I am single but she knows my family very well over the years).
Urine tests, blood tests and a prostate examination all followed, to my further embarrassment.

I was told I probably had an STD but, since I lied and denied any sexual activity, I was treated for a UTI.

Everything has now cleared up & all tests were 'normal' but it was rather concerning.

Now referred to a urologist but mainly due to my age - informed there is nothing to worry about.

I hope that helps you and, if you need additional info, please PM me, so long as it's not personal, I will try to help.

You appear to have been fortunate and your medical professionals have followed a good diagnostic pathway and not just a zoom call!!

It is very common to not identify any specific cause for this and when that is the case it does indeed usually just clear up, although nine months does seem somewhat prolonged, that is assuming it has been fairly continual rather than recurring? I don't know your timeline but maybe it does need another follow up?

Thanks for the reply Doc. After the initial investigations the consultant said that if it got worse then the GP could refer me back. After a couple of months it did get worse and the consultant reviewed my case and said that they'd done all the tests they could and so I would have to be patient and that it would / should clear up on it's own.

Thanks for clarifying the timeline. I hope all will be well in due course :hi:
