The difference is you are the professional, you are the one taking (very good) money for your services, the punter isn't, he's the one paying, the least you can do is be clean & fresh for each client.
I don't agree with bad hygeine full stop btw & always make sure i'm clean before every punt, if you're not happy with a punter's hygeine ask him to wash beforehand or refuse to continue the booking.
No excuse from a professional unless you're running a conveyor belt & don't have much respect for your clients.
